I know everyone wants bayverse to stay die and I could drone all day about how much better job IDW would do in their series but wouldn't it just be better to let them have a shot in making their own continuity in full defiance of bay/lorenzos vision??? As far as I'm aware; The 2005 G1 continuity had a well crafted storyline with many new takes on fan favorites for its 13 year run. They could really do the same for bayverse if hasbro allows it.
I wish the IDW could end the plots of the movies in the comics. I was thinking and what I would like to happen: If John Barber could write two mini-series: one between the third and fourth movie and another between the fourth and fifth movie and then a miniseries to finish the Unicron plot and the universe of the movies. Maybe also a miniseries in the Cybertron to link what was written in the old comics with the information from movies 4 and 5.
I miss the comics as filler for the stuff that happened inbetween the movies. Personally, I'd love to get a comic that explains events as they happened between AOE and TLK.
Maybe. I liked the "fill-in" stories that IDW made that took place before and after the 2007 Movie such as the Reign of Starscream. I could partially see them as being spinoff movies. And it was a shame that ROTF subtly retconned them even though IDW had made a more coherent movie than ROTF's writing.
Sure, in theory they could do something like that. Whether or not they'd do a good job with it is another story.
I want an Anthology comic series from IDW. Writers would be given from one to five pages to tell a short story taking place at any point in any Transformers storyline. The point is to expand upon the original story with more details or to correct a mistake. Kind of like the recent ‘84 book but with more of an emphasis on reinforcing the continuity and not breaking it even further.
