So, I'm curious about the screenwriter for the Bumblebee movie. And I found out that she wrote two movies before Bumblebee.

    Shut In (IMDB: 4.7/10)
    Unforgettable (IMDB: 5/10)

Based on the scores alone...it is not good at all, but then, Travis Knight's already known as a great director...for his animated movie. Do you think Knight could make the best out of the script?

She's also writing a Harley Quinn movie.

I don't put much stock into IMDB ratings.

If you liked the previous movies, knowing the reviews and IMDB/RT scores, I don't think whatever reviews and score this one ends up getting is stopping you from liking this either. Regardless, the writer's resume, doesn't inspire much faith, indeed.

The RT scores are even worse: 8% and 25% respectively

She appears to be a well-known up-and-coming screenwriter in the industry. So no, I don't think her previous two movies are any indication that she "would be a problem" for the BumbleBee movie.

I've seen good movies penned by horrible writers and writers that did good movies attached to awful films. I honestly feel like the director's eye for what is fun and what isn't fun is more important for a end product than the guy writing.

Hollywood is known for hiring crap writers again and again for their ability to be a team player and achieve the company's goals no matter how awful the scripts are. They don't care. BUT, I'm a firm believer that a great director can salvage a crap script. Fallen Kingdom is the most recent example. Christina Hudson is the number one concern of mine since day one, but we'll see.

You're right.. the director (and the producers) still has the final say on what's good and what needs to be changed from the script.

While I think Fallen Kingdom is not as good as the first, yes..it could be worse..

I thought it was confirmed that the film had since been rewritten by someone else?

Possibly, but we'll have to wait and see.

Both "Shut In" and "Unforgettable" were very poorly received overall, so I don't think it's unfair to be skeptical.

I didn't have too many worries but I do now. Good grief, that's a horrible track record she has. Yes, a good captain can right a ship, but this one seems like it could sink before leaving dock...

It'll either make her career or she'll break Transformers for good.

With a track record like hers, you have to wonder if they did it because she's talented or because she's a woman. Like they're meeting a quota. There are other women who work behind the scenes in Hollywood that could do far better than this woman.

    I'm genuinely completely worried, now.

Does it matter people are loving the things there being shown she's been writing for a quite a while doesn't mean she'll be bad she's learning how to write just like riding a bike you learn you don't get it right off the first try or second you keep doing it doing till you get that shit done

In what universe is someone who wrote two horrible generic thrillers now doing an alien robot movie series with a history of bad writers "not a problem"?

It's like some people are just willing to spite the obvious facts for the sake of being contrary

So, have you seen any good movies penned by horrible writers attached to a franchise that has fatigued to high heaven? Additionally, coming from a studio that will collapse if they don't start from scratch and make a conscious turn around to re-focus on content driven from its origins?

That's a highly specific scenario so I'll give you 10 more years to find me an example

"Here's a dismissive one liner for no reason."

Who could make such a selfish decision? Cough BONAVENTURA cough

It was in an interview with Steinfeld. She brought it up I believe. Can’t remember which interview though.

In my universe, where we use the internet to research things and don't overreact when someone has a different opinion. Oh, and we also know the difference between facts and opinions.

    Probably misspoke or misquoted.
