I've been curious about this game, but this video convinced me that it might be cool. Remember wearing a cardboard costume, but in your mind you were a badass? IGN Video: Costume Quest Xbox 360 Gameplay - Battling Monster
Stayed up way past bedtime playing this last night. Well worth the dollar dollar. Charming as all getout.
Twist. Is there a manual way to save on this game. I thought the game would auto save when I quit, and I trick or treated half the neighborhood, collected an assload of candy and lost it all. After going back, I realized that it saves after completing most minor quests, but there's no manual save, right? Anyway, yeah, the game is fantastic. Best line so far... "Wait... Shhhh... You had me at QUEST."
I was interested. Multiple reviews have mentioned the words I fear most..."Short Game". Can't justify $15 for a game I'll blow through in a weekend or less. If it goes on sale, as is apt to happen on the PSN, then I might jump in.
I'd say my only complaint is that the game is packaged levels. You level your characters by fighting, but fighting isn't random encounters. It's monsters hiding inside of houses that you Trick or Treat to. So, unless I'm missing another form of leveling, you will always be the same level when you pass through the gate to the next level, and for the most part, have the exact same amount of candy. There is little room for beefing up characters and stuff like that. But the counterside is that it's not supposed to be Fallout or Dragon Age, and the game oozes with the personality that is typical of Schafer. The dialogue between the characters is great. By the way, is that South Park's Chef's stationwagon? lol
You batard, I was coming here to say the same thing after playing the demo. Shafer is a god when it comes to comedy in games.
There are other equally-funny moments in the game later on, but that one made me stop playing for a second, lol
Awesome game is awesome, on my way to S-ranking it too Edit - all done. 100% achievements, S-Rank got
I grabbed the demo last night along with Super Meat Boy. I don't have the patience/precision for Super Meat Boy so it got deleted, however this I kept playing and really like it. Loved how the demo broke the fourth wall several times and the art style was very pleasing. Probably going to grab this as it looks to be a fun little game to play.
Loved just about everything in the too short demo; still not a fan of the price. It's like getting excited and disappointed over the Rocket Knight Adventures rebirth all over again. (I'm a budget conscious gamer nowadays, dagnabbit...)
Almost done with it. It's funny...Combat is so simple and it's the same moves through the whole games, but it never gets old. The simple interaction with it makes it fun to get into combat situations. Oh and I Love Lucy.
Spiffy, now I'll be able to play through both in one go when I pick up the first one in somewhat short order.
