Anyone else have their orders from China delayed? Is the Coronavirus contributing to the delay? I can't find any article on google relating to this outbreak that is tied to shipping or customs delay.

I have been waiting on my Jinbao Set B that I ordered from TF-Direct. It's been almost 2 months now and it still hasn't left Gangzhou, China. It's still the same status since Dec.12.

So, December 12th is right before the holidays (christmas, etc.). Then the New Years, and the Lunar New Years, which is a huge freaking event in China, everyone has off for the festivities and travel, etc. [This is actually what caused the explosion in the outbreak, many people gathering in a single place, very sad]. Anyway, due to the outbreak the celebration is being extended (their way of having people take off extra time to stay from going to work, going out, etc to spread the virus.) So, yes, the virus is causing the delays because the festivities are being extended. But, the virus is not stopping shipments itself.

For more info google "chinese lunar new year extended"

That is odd. I had an order sent out a week after you from China and it sat there for a week and half then shipped.

I've been getting the same status for the third time now, so I'm considering this a loss.

Yeah. I think I'm just going wait for sellers with a local warehouse or ask in Junkion Exchange. I quit eBay because of the wait and bait thing. So from now on, no more orders unless they are local - make that my finance damage control. I'm at about $200 on losses now.

    This is good info.

Lucky you! Mine hasn't left China. It's still in Guangzhou. It says 10 hrs away on the map for Wuhan where the outbreak is. If it never left then, it's definitely not going anywhere now.

Thanks! Didn't know it got extended.

Is this through TaoBao? Or one of the Chinese sellers?

As long as it is still in China, you or the seller can call the domestic delivery company to find out. (I have done that a few times.) Not all is lost.

However, most business is closed until Feb 10 due to the virus outbreak.

i got stuff i ordered after xmas so guess not?
however I have noticed less new products , which IS normal for chinese new year,
HOWEVER, some companies I read hear said (On WEibo) they had production delays...

    ... basically;
    - current postal service is working as usual
    - production of announced 3p products will be delayed a little so expect new releases to take a while longer.

Rather than the virus itself, the consequences of putting on quarantine a city of 11 million strong and cancelling New year celebrations has affected industry in general.

Well China is kind of in lock down at the moment. Based off the news today (about HK deciding wether to quarantine it's self from China- I'm not sure HK is in lockdown). Are you assuming it's the same as China now? Or Do you you have definite info? Robot Kingdom's news post this morning didn't indicate they were locked down past CNY.

BTW, I've always gotten Robot Kingdom orders within 2 weeks (often faster)- Mainland China stuff typically takes longer (often much longer). If I had to guess, I'm suspcious the posts are completely seperate- but I'm just guessing.

You can ask them for help.

What I've seen before is that the tracking info is truncated when translated to English, so it may appear to go to the same places whereas it isn't. You may want to post a screenshot of the tracking in Chinese, for example.

I just submitted a follow-up with them. Hopefully I'd get a reply back soon. TF-Direct already told me last time to file a dispute if the update becomes stale after 40 days. The problem is that the date does change but the actual shipping status doesn't. I'll just try to buy the sets I need from other owners in Junkion Exchange. Hopefully I will find an owner who is willing to sell their copy.

As far as I can tell from reading, HK post was suspended in some areas due to changes being implemented in the postal system. Another update today stated that all POs will be open, although at shortened hours. Didn't read anything about it being due to the virus. This is just from what I read, but I could be wrong.

I'm guessing US Customs is probably doing some kind of screening on packages shipped during the outbreak period, but I haven't seen anything to confirm this. I had a package arrived in Chicago on 01/31 and I'm curious as to how long it might end up sitting there. I've seen long wait times at Chicago, even before the coronavirus issue, so I am anticipating that it will be quite a while before I get those items in hand (if they don't just toss them in a fire).

I had a package from AU sit in customers for a full week. Longer than usual. They may be backed up processing inbound shipments due to the extra screening for packages from CN.

Nope, no extra screening for goods. I've literally just received a package shipped from China last week.

I also just came back from overseas yesterday and although I did spend 3 hours in SFO immigration, there was no screening beyond : "have you ever been to China the last 14 days?" The CDC guys had this small table at the side manned by TWO people and they weren't doing anything.

The incompetence at SFO immigration is probably worse than the virus.
