I can't remember which console had proportionately more bad games but I don't remember Sega having Barbie games.

The NES , The SNES , and The 64 had a strong line up of Solid Titles but they had some stinkers in their as well. That said the good outweighed the bad overwhelmingly by a sizable margin collectively between those 3 systems.

@ Seali_Me If I remember correctly the Sega consoles just had an endless sea of bad titles across all of it systems with the exception of select franchise titles , & Shenmue.

...True. But the Nintendo back then was an unstoppable juggernaut of gaming entertainment just as Capcom , and KONAMI once were.

Nintendo's handheld is still very strong. Stronger than ever.

Also it's the only way I can play.

I do keep forgetting about Wii U's new portable screen. It helps gamers like me play games.

Sports titles. Back in the day, we had better graphics playing the real thing. A console named aptly "outside". :D  You paid in calories. Burning em'.

My fault for not specifying what I meant by Select Franchise Titles when talking about SEGA

    Yakuza
    Sonic the Hedgehog
    Shenmue
    Shinobi

Those were the only franchise series I had liked on the SEGA consoles I just couldn't get behind the others -- sorry. That being said SEGA did put out a strong selection of Titles for that Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection.

Haha, those levels were challenging, but I remember loving it, that tune is still clear as day.

Agreed but I would rather play outside.

My fave levels were always the race levels. Especially the one with unicycle saw level. So much fun.

I loved all levels, maybe, last level was a bit of a bitch :p  But ye, the race levels were lots of fun. Used to do a few tricks like missing ramps and jumping over the walls instead of dodging. Ah, good times :lol

Once you get the obstacles memorized, the race stages aren't too bad.
I would usually do ok on Battletoads until that damned snake level. Instant death nearly every time if you don't know the patterns. That level would just suck my remaining lives from me.

Exactly every level always keep you on your toes which is why I hate it Battletoads gets classified into a sidescroll brawler. Each stage gave you unique challenges.

The brawler parts were just in my way of getting into the real fun.

Snake levels were a pita. I was always impatient but that paid off with warp zones.

Do we still get those in games btw?

Yes, despite its difficulty Battletoads gets much respect from me for keeping each level varied and unique. Earthworm Jim attempted the same variety but was less successful.

So you never got into Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, or Outrun?
Please don't take that as criticism, just asking.
I myself never got into Shenmue. Rented it once and thought it was boring as hell.

Castle of Illusion. Played it so hard I can finish it with one life. :lol  wasted mine in the process.

Streets of rage was fun. The later versions were as much.

Problem with most titles I do enjoy like outrun, afterburner, ghouls and ghosts, Strider were better enjoyed at the arcades.

Titles like this ghostbusters, e-swat, shadow dancer, dick Tracy immediately come to mind when remembering the genesis.

I only started enjoying sonic in the mid 90's. A friend of mine agreed to exchange consoles for a week. I was jealous of that rpg strategy game Sega released. Forgot the name starts with an S I think.
