I played it on Super Joy...

I wonder if there's a PSP emulator for it. There's gotta be, right?

I played only Probotector. I also prefer the cool robots over the boring soldiers. I mean... robots... it's obvious! :D  That's why I got interested in it in first place! :)

Yup, Probotector Hard Corps. The Japanese version gave you at least 3 hearts.

I remember trying to beat Contra (without cheating) and boy was that hard. It took time. Yes, not impossible but hard.

At least I beat the first stage in my first couple of tries.

I watched this yesterday too, oddly though by another friend shooting me the link.

Its just funny that there are no basic platforming skills anymore. The kids did seem like they were learning and enjoying it, aside from the few that hated it though. Just seems like with the lack of platforming games, old school arcades and such, those fundamental gaming skills are completely lost on a new generation.

Probably with a couple more hours they would have gotten the hang of it though.

There are far too many platformers in the industry even today. How many times has Konami rereleased their classics? Same thing with other big names such as Capcom, Sega, Nintendo etc. The games are there for them to enjoy.

What I do see is a general lack of interest in old school gaming.

Did we as children of the 80's play previous entries before Nintendo's revolutionary 80's machine as well as the kids in the beginning of 60's - 70's arcades? I wonder how gamers before my time felt about us back then.

I could only make it to level 3 without the code. Level 2 is what screws me over.

    MIND - BLOWN!

Sure this game was hard but Battletoads, yup F*** BATTLETOADS!

Well, I wasn't interested in games that existed before my time and I still am not. So I can relate to that. I even have a hard time to play NES or Master System games because they look so old. But SNES and Mega Drive is awesome. It's exactly that what video games look to me in my book. Although I loved PlayStation after that and still play current games, but when I think of video games, I think of the 90s. Where I played them mostly.

Yeah, considering I was an arcade rat when I was little, I played a vast majority of the stuff that came before the NES. Not so much atari, but lot of the arcade classics that came out of the late 70s. We didn't have a NES until I was 5 (when it released), but I had already spent a good majority of my childhood begging my parents for quarters to play games while we were out.

I've just always had a love for interactive video gaming. My dad was hooked back then too so he introduced me to a lot of stuff and got me playing early.

I remember I played a game on an Atari console. Something with helicopters I think and shooting. Really simple game. Not a lotta pixels and colors :lol

Was that brown Atari console with the joysticks.

I was always fascinated by video games, but my first computer, that should have been a C64, became an Amiga 600 and my first console, while I wanted to have a NES before, became a Mega Drive. I also had a handheld before (Gameboy), so I really skipped the games with bad graphics.

I remember playing the US version as a kid and found it to be one of the most frustrating experiences in gaming at the time. I did get pretty good at it, but never came close to beating it and if I recall, put the game down based on frustration alone.

I really don't think I could be any better than those kids if I were to play this today.

I hate NES era platform games because they were unreasonably hard.

    :lolol

I think I'm going to need a bigger laughing emoticon.

Even without the code as a 9 year I did better on my first run.

Here are some coloring books and some colorful number puzzles. They should be big enough that you won't choke on them.

And for good measure here are some 1-step Transformers.

    :D

    :lol
