    Ebay:
I'm toying with the idea of selling off my collection in two lots, one of Primes and one of Starscreams, but unsure what to price it at, if it's worth even trying to sell. All are open items, but in very good condition overall (everything is 95 to 100% complete). Definitely display-worthy pieces.

    Primes:
    RiD Optimus Prime
    Energon deluxe Prime
    Armada deluxe Prime
    Cybertron Optimus Prime
    Hasbro Masterpiece Prime (1st release)
    Alternators Optimus Prime
    Gen2 Optimus Prime (95% complete)
    Robot Heroes G1 Prime
    War Within Optimus Prime
Revenge of the Fallen Leader Prime
    Animated Activator Optimus Prime

    Starscreams:
Revenge of the Fallen Leader Starscream
    Hasbro Masterpiece Starscream
    Armada Starscream
    Energon Starscream
    Supreme Cybertron Starscream
    G2 Starscream
    Animated Activator Starscream

Let me know values as two sets. Not worth it to me to break 'em up, since the value to me is a reprensentation of each from every generation.

    Ebay:
How is that? I listed the toys, and stated their condition. Shouldn't require a degree in rocket science... Just trying to get an idea of what to ebay it for.

It sounds like you're trying to get a price check on your items, so I'm moving this to TF Toy Discussion. If you decide to list with a price later on feel free to start another thread in the Junkion. I've got some estimates for your Primes:

RiD Optimus Prime- $20 (assuming Leader)
Energon deluxe Prime- This was from the TRU two-pack, or the Superlink release?
    Armada deluxe Prime- $10
    Cybertron Optimus Prime- $20
    Hasbro Masterpiece Prime (1st release)-$60-$80
    Alternators Optimus Prime- $20-$30
    Gen2 Optimus Prime (95% complete)- $80*
    Robot Heroes G1 Prime- $5
    War Within Optimus Prime- $10-$20
Revenge of the Fallen Leader Prime- $50
    Animated Activator Optimus Prime- $5

That brings it to $280-$320 without counting the Energon Prime. I gathered the prices/ranges from eBay so you may consider shaving off a few bucks if you put it up for sale here. Gen2 estimate was based off an unsold completed item.
There's just not much demand for Prime toys outside from Classics, Masterpiece and the ROTF Leader mold. A few years ago toys like the RID and Cybertron Leader Primes were going for $40-$50 pretty steadily.

Sadly, price checks on this board range from 'unhelpful' to 'completely useless'. I would just forego the hassle of everyone's opinion and check eBays finished listings.

they do? Ebays prices are higher than they would be here. if he wants to sell them here and goes off completed Ebay prices he could be asking way too much for them and they wont sell

price checks are quite helpful, most of us know what we're talking about when ti comes to this stuff

In my experience. As soon as you list something on here it just brings all the lowballers out of the woodwork. To find the price people are physically willing to pay for something, eBay is the only guide in my eyes. Having said that, prices on there are wildly inconsistent at best, so really that just a 'put up for sale and hope for the best' approach.

if you break them up you will have more of a chance, because especially for prime, chances are people will have some if not most of them,

    Ebay:
I didn't realize that RID and Cybertron Prime "dropped" in value. I still think these guys are worth at least $40 each easily, but thats just MHO.

That's gonna be a problem the value is no longer to you it is to the buyer who may not want all the items as a "set". You will get more if you break them up.

I agree wholeheartedly, but eBay completed auctions say otherwise.

when you say "Energon starscream" do you mean the starscream from Transformers Energon? Or the Transformers Energon toy called "Energon Starscream" ?

If breaking them up is not an option, it doesn't hurt to contact vendors such as BBTS and hear what they say. In any way, taking indivisual photos will help :)
    Good luck with your sales.
