I have seen this giftset on ebay four times the recent month. I mailed the seller about a couple of weeks ago when the st was up again and asked him if this were the set that were sold last week?

He answered me that he didnt know. All the times, the seller has put up new pics but in different angles, I studied them and made that conclusion that this is the same set all the times it has gone up on ebay.

And a special note on this theme is that is alway a new seller ( new seller name) but is alway from the same place ( Toronto Canada).

So if someone here is bidding on it, beware...the set is going up with a new seller in some weeks again.

Such a damn shame as that is a nice piece.

 

I bought one a month ago and have been periodically searching auctions. I also noticed an influx of sets from Canada. Shame.

 

Would you happen to have links to the past auctions? They aren't showing up in his ended auctions.

 

Ebay should put special safeguards in place for situations exactly like these.. High dollar ending auctions with new user accounts... I mean, I know there already are more or less, the winner getting ripped off will likely at least get most of their money back eventually from paypal but, as soon as stuff starts going into hundreds of dollars with a 0 feedback or new user.... bells and whisles should be going off somewhere at headquarters, and it should be monitored and/or investigated where need be. Such as this perfect scenario ;;

There already are safety measures through Paypal - they hold the seller's money for a period (a month?) or until the buyer leaves positive feedback. Not a pro-active solution and it hurts/annoys new honest sellers, but at least it's something.

I wouldn't rule out simple shill bidding for this one either though. Obviously eBay is super hard at work weeding out that little problem since it's so rare and impossible to solve.

I take it these Computron gift sets aren't that rare? Have these been KO'ed yet?

 

There were vintage KOs, just not recent ones though.

The box was knocked off years ago but not the insert. Not sure if it was american or the japanese one that was done, hotspot17 might remember.

 

Oh well, at least that douche seller managed to get rid of it!  

 

There's a Repro-ed Japanese box up for sale on eBay awhile ago.

It is rarer than Piranacon, but on par with Menasor, and not as rare as Defensor.
