Why would the jeep character be a retool of an APC?

 

A thought: could Prowl actually be a new combiner car mould?

Dragstrip, post Mirage, is virtually a dead duck.

A Fairlady Z car, with the fold out door wings, would give us Prowl, Bluestreak & Smokescreen. A little remoulding would give us Jazz.

which brings us to the bigger question: Could we get all 18 Diaclone Cars?

Ratchet: First Aid, but would need new head and clever painting.
Hound: Off Road in green
Bluestreak: repaint whatever Prowl turns out to be
Jazz: ditto
Mirage: Dragstrip
Sideswipe: Breakdown, new head, new chest plate

Prowl: see above
Trailbreaker: Off Road/First Aid depending on if you want the camper element or not.
Ironhide: Off Road/First Aid
Wheeljack: Probably Dead End
Sunstreaker: Brakedown

Inferno: Hotspot in red with a new head
Grapple: Hotspot in orange with a new head and crane arm ladder replacement
Skids: First Aid, at a push, in blue
Tracks: Probably Dead End in blue
Red Alert: Breakdown
Hoist: Off Road in Green. Towing gear is a must this time to distinguish from Hound
Smokescreen: whatever Prowl is in Blue

 

To me, aside from the curiousity of a 2nd wave of deluxe Autobot cars, the 2 most exciting things are #1. TrailBREAKER -- hopefully the got the name back, no more Trailcutter nonsense. #2. Stripes most likely being a prePaint/preTool of a new Ravage!!!

Combaticons are great, butt we all knew they were coming....

Here's to hopping for some new molds (brawl, blastoff) or at least some solid reshells (off-road to a HumVee for Swindle) amongst all this.

 

I was looking at Streetwise last night, and as I was transforming him back and forth I thought it would make an alright Wheeljack repaint. The only problem will be the head transformation, as Wheeljacks ears will not fit into that space under the hood like Dead End and Streetwise do.

Maybe it will be a new mold, or an even more extensive retool?

Wreckgar will probably be a repaint of Groove.

Trailbreaker - Off Road repaint
Smokescreen - Dead End repaint

Vortex - Alpha bravo retool
Brawl - Rook remold.
Swindle - Off Road/ First Aid repaint
Blast Off - the one new deluxe mold?


Those would all be my guesses anyway.

 

Whaaaaa??? Generations Whelljack is fantastic!!! I'd all but guarantee a CW version would be far less on model, especially if this is another "repaints with new heads" wave...

Prowl and Smokescreen are bought, I absolutely LOATHE the Classics mold. Doubt they will have their door wings and shoulder cannons, shame. :/

But I would like the option of a space themed combiner to swap blastoff with because I still like blastoff

Trailbreaker based on the Off-Road/First Aid mold could work well.

 

god why do you guys all say "swindle will be a retool of this and brawl will be a retool of that"?

i do realize they reuse and retool molds but to this extent? do you honestly think CW is lasting two years with JUST retools? NONE of these could be new molds? the downside of "retool" speculation is eventually people start quoting it as fact until reveals are put out. be happy, as i am, with the listings but dont think it's all going to be just retools. eventually they have to crank out new molds or else people are going to get tired of buying the same mold four or five times no matter how you dress it up.

When do we get Alpha Bravo retooled as SG Galvatron, with the body of SG Cyclonus, several other SG Decepticon on other limbs, and we can put Legends G1 Clifffjumper on the chest?

 

We had TRU listings for "Slingshot" and "Wildrider" before Hasbro officially announced "Quickslinger" and "Brake-Neck".

Non-public store listings are funny thing; they can contain all sorts of early working names. Back in 1999, Wal-Mart's computers had a listing for a Transmetal 2 "Kangaroo" that ultimately turned out to be Jawbreaker, a hyena.

 

I would buy 2 and then some.
