Wow! I hope Hasbro or Takara just release Bruticus in these colors eventually. It's a shame that if they ever do, it may not look to crisp, since the mold used for Bruticus has seen better days.
It would still hold some value, but nowhere near the current level. Look at what happened with Stepper, or even the White Headmasters to see what happens to value once something is reissued or KO'd. Basic supply & demand. This is only in demand because it's rare.
I don't believe that's true at all. People can claim to want to go to indian casinos and have a good time all they want, but at the end of the day everyone wants to goto Vegas.
They would be phenomenal photos of toys in plastic baggies, because he would be nuts to remove them!!!
If this is the only set in existence in this condition with all of the accessories, then oddly enough, it might actually not hurt the value that much or at all to open them (unless something was damaged after opening them), simply because if they were resold, the next buyer would be able to display it without having to think about whether to open them or not. However, if the set ever got reissued as a Botcon set or whatever, opening them would probably reduce the value quite a bit because you could use a reissue set for display. I guess there are people out there that drink 10 grand bottles of wine or scotch, so wth!!!
I wouldn't be surprised if they were. You're right, the only way this can happen is if the powers that be could make a new tool from a vintage piece like HasTak did with the G1 Soundwave reissue but I seriously doubt that would happen. A nerd can dream though.
I eagerly await the final bid and hope that the winner opens these up thought I won't be holding my breath.
Someone must really need cash in a flash. I wouldn't ever part ways with this ever. Hopefully whoever wins it truly appreciates this rarity.
An Unproduced carded Second series Droids frgure from the original Star Wars line just sold on EBay. It was on a one sided card (only used for display at Toy Fair, I believe [please correct me if I'm wrong]). Sold for a bit over $50K. I'll stick with my $20-25K guess. It's already at $6k. I'm sure there are some "black hole" collectors out there for whom money is no object.
They look like crap inside those stupid baggies. I hope whoever buys them rips them out and enjoys the figure. $6,600 is what theyre asking for it, but the real value is what someone is willing to pay for it.
wonder if the reserve will even be met. i understand wanting a certain amount maybe but id be willing to bet it wont be met.
no offense, but honestly if you want a menasor with those colors then have a custom made. They look beautiful in those bags to me.
I would have to sell off my entire collections of TF's, coins, meteorites and autographs. Then just maybe I'd have a real shot at obtaining this.
