I see so many MP style figures, but does any company have a line of CHUG style figures?

 

MMC has chug figures. As I've told you before, hasbro is killing it right now with the Titan returns line! Do yourself the favor and check them out

 

Trust me, I believe you man, im not just a big fan of the characters they are producing. Always been a bigger fan of season 1-2 characters of G1. After the movie the characters we very limited of what I liked.

 

Too bad I've sold off most of my generations figures over time or I would've given you a hell of a deal lol. Hunt down some of the older classics/generations figures I guess. I can't think of any season 1 or 2 chugs being made now

 

It depends on how wide or narrow your interpretation of "chug style" is. Because all of the following companies make non-mp stuff:

And most of it is g1 season 1-2 based.

Most of my collection is Maketoys and MMC and non-mp scale and I own 100s of 3p figures by now. So I'm always weirded out by the "oh em gee everything is mp now!" sentiment.

 

Well, I wouldn't mind getting into the post G1 movie characters as thats what is the trend right now. Where could I start?

This is the link to the 3rd Party index (also tagged on the first page of Transformers Third Party Discussion). Plenty to look at, but you may need some luck finding CHUG type figures since some aren't made anymore and cost an arm and a leg on eBay, amazon and some other sites. You'll find some of them around voyager size. I'm actually glad I'm almost done with collecting MPs and CHUGs, since this is an expensive hobby.

There is no scale in CHUG.

MMC is pretty much the only company left that makes figures I give a crap about.

 

All major 3rd party companies except for Fanstoys and Gigapower make CHUG.

 

Yea, after a ton of back and forth I finally settled on a hybrid CHUG/MP display for all G1/BW TV characters w/CHUGS getting knocked out by worthy Masterpiece replacements (3P or Takara)

 

I'm too OCD to do that, lol. Maybe mix MP Bumblebee, but anything else would drive me nuts. I had to keep my CHUGs and MPs separated.

 

You could get some great deals in the buy/sell/trade junkions forums, especially if you're willing to acquire opened/used figures.
Many collectors are always trying to get rid of their old chug pieces, due to financial reasons, to gain more valuable space, shifting focus towards a masterpiece centric collection, or just plain losing interest in the hobby.

 

There are two chug scales:
A right one and a wrong one.
