Just a heads up, EA released a set of every C&C game fromthe last 10 years. http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/260316.asp
I think the series went downhill after Red Alert tbh, I thought they were on the rise again with RA2, but sadly not...
Exactly what I did. Only one I didn't have was Generals: Condition Zero. But to have them all on 1 DVD... for a mere 40 bucks... ridiculously good deal.
I personally loved Tiberian Sun, Generals SUCKED, but with the return of the RA2 team doing RA3 I have High Hopes!
I had bought them all Except Generals(and a asshole friend long ago never gave me back my Red+2 Expansion set). I had to get it the day it came out, and that is what I did. I find it strange, 40 bucks for all except Sole Survivoir(sp), or right next to it was Generals+Zero Hour for 30. Such a hard choice.... Now they just need 3rd game in the Tiberian timeline.
RA2 and Yuri were great; Generals sucked something fierce, and I didn't find Tiberian that interesting.
I still play Generals in various modded forms. There are some pretty wild fan mods out there (try starting at cncden.com and search from there.)...I especially like the Starcraft one.
Red Alert 3 Announced EA have confirmed that the The Red Alert Universe will live on. Below is the official announcement by Mark Skaggs, Producer at EA's Los Angeles Studios that Red Alert3 will be the next game they are developing. We will keep you informed with news and announcement throughout the development of the game Hi everyone, I hope everyone is enjoying one of the best years ever for PC gaming. On the eve of one of our own major releases, The Lord of the Rings™, The Battle for Middle-earth™, the one thing we've grown to understand is how important the community - our most loyal supporters - is for industry. This started back in our days at Westwood where the community for our games has always been a big priority. We understand that you are the most important and influential group for us and we are constantly amazed at the amount of talent used to create quality assets and mods. Having said that, we have a MAJOR announcement to make and we are making it exclusively to our long time C&C fans. We've introduced some really innovative features and gameplay mechanics, which you should definitely check out when you get a chance. You will also see a major enhancement to the Sage graphics engine we originally created for Command & Conquer Generals. Expect us to leverage and continue to evolve this powerful engine as we start work on our new Command & Conquer game. Thanks again for all your support over the years. This entire team is incredibly excited to work on the next Command & Conquer chapter. Look for an official announcement soon and have a wonderful holiday. Mark Skaggs VP and Executive Producer Electronic Arts
Only problem with that RA3 thing, is that since that was put out at the end of 04, many of the people have left that were starting work on it. I would almost want ot think its dead much like C&C3 is right now. C&C3 looked like it shodul of looked nice from teh EVA images that are on this link.Link. Guess there is also a litlte intro vid I have yet to watch.
to add to that ... As much as I would love to see another RA style game, it's certainly not guaranteed at this point.
As am i! I've invested many many hours into C&C over the last 10 years...... Love them all! Even Tiberium sun!
I recently started getting back into Generals, and I'm enjoying it. I do wish I had got round to playing Jux in Yuri's Would have been fun to see his tactics.
Even if they do make another Red Alert game, it just won't be the same without Frank Klepacki doing the music. Hell March forever, baby.
Hell March was the best. Whenever I start a C&C game it pops in my brain. http://macandchuck.ytmnd.com/ Someone else likes the Hell March.
