Diamond's list for this week is up, what's everyone getting? Don't forget, comics are out on Thursday because of the holiday. http://www.diamondcomics.com/shipping/shipping_070705.txt -Exiles #66 -Ultimate Spider-Man #79
There seems to be some discrepancies with Diamonds list and the lists from both Midtown Comics and Graham Cracker Comics (Seems to be just in the DC section). Consult all three sources. DC: DC Special Return of Donna Troy #2 (of 4) JSA #75 Superman #219 Villains United #3 (of 6) Marvel: Fantastic Four: House of M #1 (of 3) House of M #3 (of 8) House of M #3 Cassady Variant
Fantastic Four: House of M #1 Iron Man House of M #1 (HoM Spidey turned out great, so I'm trying these out, too) House of M #3 (I am such a sucker for crossovers) Uncanny X-Men #462 (a Psylocke and Rachel Summers arc, no way that can lose )
DC COMICS MAY050196 BATMAN DARK DETECTIVE #5 (OF 6) $2.99 MARVEL MAY051736 HOUSE OF M #3 (OF 8) $2.99 If that's all I probably should just skip, not worth the drive... though I do need to turn in my Previews order... also I do need to drive out there to exchange a DVD at Best Buy that's all fubared on the bottom... hmmm... then again if Villians United #3 and JSA #75 are coming out that could tilt it.
I know I was going to pick up 12 books this week. As for what they were, can't remember. 3 House of M titles, Firestorm, Army of Darkness, Ult Spidey, and some other stuff,
HOUSE OF M #3 (OF 8) IRON MAN HOUSE OF M #1 (OF 3) And where's the Serenity comic? I thought it was going to come out the first week of July.
DC SPECIAL THE RETURN OF DONNA TROY #2 (OF 4) $2.99 VILLAINS UNITED #2 SECOND PTG $2.50 ULTIMATE MUSCLE VOL 7 GN $7.95 That's it.
According to Diamond, the 3 covers to issue #1 are out next week (07/13/2005). The Poplollies website you posted in your thread "All 9 SERENIT (the Firefly movie's comic book prequel) covers" says:
DC COMICS BLOOD OF THE DEMON #5 $2.50 MARVEL SPIDER-GIRL #88 $2.99 and if JSA comes in that too. WHOOT JSA!!!!!!!
DC SPECIAL THE RETURN OF DONNA TROY #2 (OF 4) $2.99 FANTASTIC FOUR HOUSE OF M #1 (OF 3) $2.99 HOUSE OF M #3 (OF 8) $2.99 IRON MAN HOUSE OF M #1 (OF 3) $2.99 ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #79 $2.50 UNCANNY X-MEN #462 $2.50 woot woot over priced crossovers and one great book!
Wildguard: Fool's Gold (#1 of 2): After the awesome "Casting Call", a one-shot, and some short online episodes, Tood Nauck brings back Wildguard for a 2-issue mini. It's solid, but not a great place to start if you're new to the series. What makes Wildguard great is the completely unhinged, super goofy Silver Age-meets-reality-TV atmosphere -- but this issue focuses mostly on the superheroics. The back-up story almost makes up for it, however, by introducing another piece of mythos to the Wildguard universe. Spider-Girl #88: The conclusion of a 3-part crossover with the Fantastic Five. Solid, if a bit sappy towards the end. House of M (#3 of 8): Hate Wolverine? Skip this issue, because it's ALL him. Well him, and a certain ex-dead person who shows up on the last page. Fantastic Four: House of M (#1 of 3): The title is a misnomer; it should be "Doctor Doom: House of M". Shoehorning Doom into the FF with 3 disposable characters only underlines how disposable this title is. Still, worth a look if you're a Doom fan. The Incredible Hulk #83 (House of M tie-in): If you gotta buy a House of M title this week, make it this one. The last few pages completely harsh on the while House of M concept, while the rest of the book justifies it in fine style. JSA #75: The conclusion of Black Vengeance. Atom Smasher faces down the consequences of his actions ... and it isn't pretty. JSA is one of the best things going in the DCU right now; I really need to bone up on the back trades. Villians United (#3 of 6): Hide the parents, it's an ALL TORTURE issue! Joy! There's torture, and screaming, and more torture, and ... um, you wanted some plot with that? Whoops, sorry. DC Special: The Return of Donna Troy (#2 of 4): If you're not boned up on the backstory of the Titan Gods in the DCU (i.e. like 99.9999999999% of the population), this issue will go straight over your head. Y'know, just like the LAST one. The only thing worse than relying on continuity is relying on obscure continuity that no one remembers, and combining it with hints of future events that no one cares about. Iron Man: House of M (#1 of who cares): BAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Like I'd actually buy anything Pat Lee draws? Sorry, next! -XCN-
