The vehicle modes look great, as with the rest of this line, could care less for bot mode.

 

Jetfire looks great in robot mode, but his jet is still a wad of robot with some fold-away jet bits, it seems. I don't think it's that possible to make a comprehensive Jetfire with the toy technology we have now, even third parties have struggled in avoiding making brick-based Blackbird bots.

Anyway, Bonecrusher and the new Prime look stellar-- I'm glad I passed on the earlier SSOP, I think I'll pick both of those up.

 

Probably get all of these. I like that Jetfire alot.

Uh oh, are those speaker holes I see on top of Jetfire's alt mode? Does that mean he has an electronic sound gimmick? Uh oh.

Most likely just holes in joint sockets to release pressure. Plus they probably don't even have enough budget for electronics in a full-size Leader class anymore. I wouldn't worry.

I like Jetfire, and especially Bonecrusher. I'm all set with movie Prime, so no thanks to this new one. That jet wing mode looks bad. I think it's the big ol' Prime feet drawing the eye. Couldn't find a better way to integrate them? Or maybe it's mistransformed there.

After inspecting these pictures and my SS-05 desk buddy, I noticed a few things:

- The revised faux-windows chest and shoulder connections (grey pieces that connects to the body are now closer to the smoke stacks) resulted in a narrower upper body.

- Back kibble sits lower and screen-accurately splits into two.

- Arms are completely new and the hood panels sits lower and over the fists. Looks like you have to untab the panels from the arms to use the blades from SS-05.

- Rear fenders are now fixed in place and can't fold down closer to the wheels.

- The grey plastic doesn't seem as dark as on SS-05 and the blue and red are now brighter and closer to previous OPs.

- Oh, and painted rims. Rad.

Honestly, the only thing I can see they didn't change are the fists, feet, crotch piece, smokestacks, and head.

 

Paris , London and Italy will have their own set of reveals.

Paris - Optimus, Jetfire and Bonecrusher

London - Megatron and presumably other new figures

 

i just noticed they made the smokestacks EVEN SHORTER XD

 

It will be lame if the ROTF one couldn't combine. But hey at least a New Mold justifies buying a Optimus with a Gun... still very low Hasbro.

Also beware of peo... Scum swapping this Voyager with the old Voyager at stores.
