Could have sworn I saw Mike Tyson on a commercial for it earlier
Fuck yes. This is going to be awesome.
Pretty shitty lineup when you consider who he's worked with over the years.
Unless everyone else said no.
Ugg, that was so painful to watch the last time, though.
Me : 'Oh look his Dad's the President'
Girls in clip (2 second later) ; "His dad's the President.. Cool"
Even with the bleeps, it was pretty obvious what was being said most of the time anyway, and the only guy who really swore was that black dude who everyone pretty much shat on worse than Sheen.
Loved the crack about assuming he was raised by his Grandmother, and I'd like to think that the "too few black people" skit wasn't rehearsed.
Missed it airing, but I recorded it. I've yet to watch but I heard there was one chick who was absolutely terrible, making a "joke" about Steve-O's friend who died in a car crash.
Though apparently Sheen himself was pretty funny.
I didn't think that joke was overly offensive, but I barely find anything offensive in comedy or wrestling these days, and I really don't think it was needed for her monologue.
Watched it mostly.
-Seth MacFarlane (this guy is consistently great in these Roasts)
-Steve-o (but he made up for it at the end by doing a header into Tyson's fist, and breaking his nose)
Even though some of it was paced badly, I thought Amy's material was decent, but yeah... Seeing Mike Tyson on there made me pretty nervous. Maybe not to the point of The Situation's impending destruction, but it definitely wasn't comfortable because I thought he'd either flat out bomb, and it's sad to see the guy not being all there most of the time.
Shattner & Jeff Ross knocked shit outa the park, and Patrice O'Neal seemed really natural & fluent as well. Definitely worth checking out.
Sheen was great. I loved Amy, as her jokes were so cold that I couldn't help but laugh. Jokes were right up my alley. I think the best was Jeff Ross, though.
I was flipping between the roast and MNF. Overall I thought it was okay. Shatner, however, was pretty hilarious.
"Who's the warlock now bitch!"
it's what Shat said right before the warlock line that blew me away.
Who is that Jeselneck bastard? i thought it was Christopher Titus' nephew auditioning for "Saved by the Bells: The Desperation Years".
I wish these roasts would not have to have "token" it-people that can't tell jokes to fill time.
Like The Situation last year. he couldn't deliver a pizza without ruining it.
but i liked the roast this year.
I didn't care for it much. Some roasts were funny, others not so much and this one falls into the not so much category.
Jesselnek was putrid, racist and his delivery pacing stunk.
Schumer went way too far with the Dunn comment. And she was just unpleasant and unfunny.
Patrice O'Neal wasn't funny because he was too busy being pissed at the racist comments and he had every right to be.
Tyson was awful and it was horrible for them to put him up there and make a spectacle out of him.
MacFarlane was still as worthless as ever, though surprisingly tame...all things considered.
Steve-O tried, failed, but tried. Threw it all away with the broken nose shit, though.
Ross and Shatner were the only ones even remotely funny, but even they couldn't save this train wreck. Both of them crossed the line, Shatner more than Ross, but Ross was still classier than the idiot bitch and her racist, no name boyfriend. That's nothing short of a miracle.
Kate Walsh and Jon Lovitz were total wastes. Plain and simple.
Sheen himself, was the only real highlight of the entire night. Love him or hate him, he told the truth about himself both good and bad, told it like it is and I can respect that.
I'm impressed that Lampanelli kept her word and refused to do it. That shows she's capable of delivering on her promises and unwilling to compromise. Most would've caved for the pay check.
Just altogether unpleasant. Some bits were laugh out loud funny, but for the most part it was uncomfortable.
I was in tears almost the whole time. Except for Amy, I really wasn't thrilled with some of her stuff. And for some reason, my DVR cut early in Sheens stuff. Hopefully the rerun I DVR'd overnight will catch the end.
I watched it and it was pretty good. You could tell Mike Tyson was REALLY nervous and was trying to be funny. Some of the other people like that dude jerkin something I didn't find that funny at all as he was MORE insulting then funny. That chic also with the blonde hair I didn't like either but she was really good looking though and thats about all shes got going for her. All in all it was OK I guess but I think I could have made fun of those 2 people I spoke of and left Sheen out and tyson out. It was a 2 on a scale of 1-10. The BEST part of it all was Slash and when charlie was talking at the end.
You mean the drunk driver that became an hero? Oh boohoohoo big loss.
Seriously, I have no respect for people who die due to those sort of risky behaviors.
You must do more crack that Charlie Sheen.
So, like everyone else there at the roast?
