Coming along now. Worked out targetmaster modes + turret modes for each limb - except skalor. I want to get some tubes for his weapons/targetmaster mode. Anyone know a good item for tubing? I have an order from K and J magnetics coming in tomorrow. It has several magnets with a 15-20lb magnet to magnet hold. The brawl figures (Sea-Wing and Overbite) are going to be my Targetmaster hands - as the open hand works to stabilize. I also sanded down and altered 8 small guns. They will attach to each of tentakil's tentacles. Hope to throw down the basecoat in the next week or so - after I finish Skalor and the magnet stuff. .
HUGE UPDATE - the Targetmasters are complete. Every targetmaster is held on with magnets. Most pics are in the straight down position because of the weight of the targetmasters (full-sized deluxe figures). I have a few shots with my hand holding the mid-arm of Piranacon so you can see how the magnets hold and how well the guns hold. I'm going with a FPS theme. I never quite understood why every limb had the Targetmaster ability - aside from adding to the combinations. Every targetmaster was the beast mode with the robot mode's guns stuck to it. Most being generic lasers. With my Piranacon, I wanted the multiple Targetmasters, but wanted each to have a purpose. If Piranacon switches limbs/guns, it should be like a player on a FPS switching from one gun to another - fitting the scenario. So we have: Chainguns, Rocket Launcher/Bazooka, a sniper rifle, a scatter blaster (multiple targets w/ lock on), and a flamethrower - all supplementing the normal rifle and trident sword. Let's start with NAUTILATOR - CHAINGUNS OVERBITE - ROCKET LAUNCHER / BAZOOKA SEA WING - SNIPER RIFLE TENTAKIL - SCATTER BLASTER I want to talk about his additions first. i used close to 20 rare earth magnets on Tentakil. Every tentacle has a magnet and a gun it can wield. I also did two melee weapons - from cyberverse Knock Out w/ Driller. His "collection" Targetmaster mode SKALOR - FLAME THROWER This isnt much different from the pic posted when I first figured out the whole Targetmaster thing. I want to make an attachment for the front - so it has flames coming out of the mouth. ACTION SHOTS OF THE COMBINER AND OTHER CONFIGURATIONS
Damn this thing is shaping up to be as amazing as I was hoping! Can't wait to see it all primed. I think a nice flat primer gray would actually look awesome on this.
Thanks. I'm going to be using three types of primer - Black, Gray, and White - depending on each part's color. I want to prime by this weekend. Thanks guys. It comes with the decision to use the G1 parts. He had a massive head on the G1 toy. If anything, the proportions should be better now, as the figures and combined mode are bigger than the 1980s original. Anti-spark: Thanks Kaijumaster: I agree. I saw this the other day and I could not find it when I went to reply, but this is fantastic. I have to say, I'm not too familiar with the Seacons but this is an amazing bash. Great eye on using these guys.
