the bigger part of a commissioned set for a fellow member....combinerwars nova prime. originally we planned this as just a basic repaint, even wondering if we should wait till the beezleboss nova kit got released but in the end,we went this way just to give him a one of a kind piece. as with everytime I visit the cw optimus mold, every last cavity has been filled/weighted with hot glue and screws for better balance/posablility. fully combined...he's a heavy sucker. waaay too many mods to completely list but some of it is... full complete repaint/detailing new feet armor new shin armor new forearm armor new shoulder armor new chest armor new big head new backpack/wing armor still transformable still able to combine with other cw limb bots some shots showing size comparisons.. small bot comparison alt mode combiner mode the new set of armor
this post is two fold. it's both to show how it all joins to him and to somewhat provide the commissioner with "instructions" lol.... from standard bot mode, point his toes right down until they click. on the feet armor, swivel the back peg support to 45 degrees. the peg plugs into a new fused in hole on his toe bottoms which are now facing backwards with the toes pointed down. once the peg is in all the way, push up on the whole foot pad until it seats the front of his toes flat to the top of the new feet armor. to attach shin guards, each shin guard has x3 supports. plug the single support right between the two back wheels first. the other side that has two supports actually fit and click into both a certain upper groove and the giant square hole located on his lower inside leg. this shot shows the single support already in the wheels and the double support at the verge of being clicked in. with all three supports fully clicked in. for the chest armor, there's two holes on the two upper tabs, these slide onto his stock exhaust stacks.keep in mind to always only press or lift on the backs of the tab and stay away from adding stress to where the tabs meet the actual chest armor. under each forearm armor,it simply pegs into his stock hands like guns. keep in mind to line up the side flap of them.the side flap both adds left to right support and fills in the massive stock gap between his fists and the flip down truck sides. to attach shoulder armor, click them in from back to front. on the back lower inside, there's a small lip which actually locks them into place by hooking to the bottom of the stock bug deflector(silver chunk)which in bot mode ends up on the backs of his shoulders. make sure the very bottom lower outside support is flush with the outsides of his stock shoulders and it'll all only just fit the one way. to attach backpack/wing armor, the two tabs at the front bottom of the pack simply plug into the stock square shaped holes right behind his head . the bottom back of the back pack has a tab that will actually overhang and trap in the top of the combiner crotch armor too. finally, the head.. attach it from front to back. the back inside of the new noggin has a lip. this lip hooks under the stock molded in funny bump that's on the back of primes head. finnito....darkness has risen.... (there's no alternate mode for all the armor as knowing the commissioner,he's gonna stay in big mode forever in his display lol) __________________
Pretty neat. Dig how the Nova bot mode turned out. I was kind of hoping the Nova Prime add-on bits (sans the hands/feet) would still somehow attach onto the big bad Combiner.
thanks!!! wow...thanks for the props!!! honestly though,i'm still inspired and in awe whenever I look at fellow member "dak"s version. from build, colors, accuracy to even the sheer size...his is a beast!!! thanks for the kind words guys!!! I hear you I also wish I would have found a way to have it all combine into something he could use in small bot mode like a gun turret/cannon emplacement/etc... but knowing the commissioner, this big bot is destined to spend the rest of it's days in big bot mode in his display. thanks again!! thanks!!!
Wow, I'm glad I decided to look at this one, not being a big fan of Nova Prime. But DAMN! This is one impressive piece! Makes me think of Ultra Magnus in that he seems to have a load bearing spark.
