ROTF has shown to us combiners of various shapes and forms. The Twins, Reedman, Devastator and Jetfire parts to Optimus Prime which is pretty much like a Scrapmetal donation to Megatron. The Arcee trio was originally conceived as a combiner. The first movie's gimmick was transforming and reformatting. The second that and combining. Now given the precedents do you guys think we'll see more combiners in TF3?
I dunno... I don't think including a lot of combiners would be a good idea. We've seen various forms of them, let's not make them a cliche.
Yay, combiners rock, but only big ones , if you mean combiners like Reedman who are composed of thousand of drones then Nay. WOuld be also cool to see combined version of the Twins.
Just one or two, I'd say (personally, I want Bruticus to be one of them). Make the hell out of the toys for several different characters. But movie-wise, just one or two.
Going off of what we've seen of those supposed Wreckers, I'm thinking the new "gimmick" of the third film will be alt-mode weapons. As for combiners, sure, why not. I wouldn't mind seeing them take a second crack at a major one. So long as they don't kill it with a offshore rail gun.
I holding out all hopes that the 3 wreckers & 2 other sports vechicles are the stunticons & combine to form menasor in the TF3 Movie/toy line. it would be kinda cool to see some G-1 Scramble city type combiners, predaking & so forth in the TF3 movie/toy line.
I don't think we'll see a large number of new combiners in #3, but what we might get is a huge TF (say something like Tidal Wave or Metroplex)
Yay. It's a good idea, and is worth another shot. I'd like to see either Menasor or Bruticus, but having an opposing Autobot combiner (Superion, maybe) to have a Combiner fight against could be very interesting.
They wouldn't be any more of a cliché than regular transforming bots imo. That's like saying there are too many transforming cars or too many grey bots.
there can be but since living things cannot be combined there can only be 1 robot and the rest have to be drones (pcc) OR they can all be drones (rotf devastator)
yay only if each part transforms. I mean 6-7 non-transforming vehicles stuck together is not my type of Transformer combiner.
Yay. However I'd like any future movie combiners to be somewhat more elegant and intelligent than ROTF Devs. Maybe an Autobot one playing a part integral to the plot, or at least give it some vocal articulation and character.
The combiners just didn't seem that impressive in Revenge of the Fallen so I think it might be better to just use that effects money on giving the robots more screen time instead. Reedman just seemed too much like the Replicators from Stargate SG1. The Twins were just together as the Ice Cream truck which is an okay concept but just not as cool as smaller robots combine to make a bigger stronger robot. Poor Devastator was just disappointing so he made it look like combining was all negatives and no real positive. Just seems to make you slower, clumsy, and even worse in a fight so why combine if it doesn't give an edge in a fight? The weapons in vehicle mode so far just seem cooler. Triple changers might be nice as well but I don't know if the movies would go with something like Blitzwing with a German accent.
