As we could tell in Season 1 and 2 of TF G1... The Combiners were stupid...
But in Season 3, Episode 75 - Fight or flee.... Bruticus seems very smart because he can speak in a full sentences with out sounds.. Like he always does.
What do you guys think?

 

You know what? I never thought of that but you're right! I don't know why that is. Probably same reason why the dinobots went from tough guys to comic relief.

 

He was born around season 1, so he was in 2+ years old by Episode 75. Newborns can't speak in sentences, but 2 year olds can. Perfectly logical explanation.

 

Good example.... Plus Grimlock become smarter as time went along.

 

Maybe advances in combiner technology were made from 1985 to 2005, and the combiner connections were upgraded.

you could do a complete brain transfer from a nuclear engineer to bruticus...he would still be stupid...bruticus was built for combat...not to speak in complete sentences.

 

The hell he did, season 3 says "sup". you know, aside from "Grimlock's new brain".

 

Computron obviously had a lot of mental development between seasons. It's only logical.

 

I agree with the theory that the technology got upgraded. You get to the point where they're building city sized Transformers, of course you're going to figure out how to improve Combiner tech.

 

Ok, well does grimlock ever smash around (Like destroy the autobot base) anymore in Season 3 (He fights but thats it)....
I don't know, It maybe not smarts but he maybe has matured.

 

Actually bruticus,arrived late on the scene in season 2. more like the tail end of the second season.

 

So my theory is blown out of the water, rats.
