I've been looking at the upgrade kits for the combiners which make a massive amount of difference and thought I'd have a go at making some upgraded feet for Superion to give him a bit more height and much needed ankle tilt.

I usually use plastic or styrene but thought I've got some off cuts of wood up in the shed so decided to have a go with that instead.
I measured out an amount to give a stable base then marked off the planned areas, I've included the measurements below if anyone else wants to have a go at this for theres.
The back section I cut out was then cut in half lengthways to become the ankle tilt piece, then I sanded down the edges to create the curve.
Drilled holes right through the middle into the front of the foot. Using a long bolt into the foot slightly smaller so it gripped the end of the bolt but then a wider hole through the tilt piece for movement. The nice thing is you can quite easily adjust the tightness this way.
I made angled cut at front also to simulate the upgraded feet sets shapes.
They worked out better than I thought they would so now making a set for Defensor as well.

These are more for comparison against standard feet on Defensor to height difference and measurements as promised as well. Tryed tamiya acrylic but it just soaked in and would of taken a ton of coats I reckon so used a bit of white gloss as had that spare too. When my ko arielbots have had there colours all recorrected I'll post some pictures on there own thread. I'll show Defensor on here as will have to do something a little different as Grooves foot peg sits further back. 20200403_142602.jpg 20200403_142611.jpg 20200403_142619.jpg 20200403_142632.jpg

Guess I was asking for that comment/post...

So got Defensors feet made added a bit more height to the tilt pieces to get over the problem Groove presented to me. Definitely a lot better in all than my first attempt.
Now if I could just fix Defensors mega loose hips/upper thighs as really struggled to keep or get any poses with his floppyness anyone managed to fix theirs? I here it's a common problem with Hotspot. Silverbolt is strong as an ox in that department!

Thanks! I usually make everything from plastic or styrene, glueing, cutting and bonding it all together I just saw the opportunity with wood to make a solid piece a different way, my wood work skills are not great but I'm sure we all fid a bit of wood work at school so it's pretty easy to do too.

Good idea to use Lego, I've recently got into the lazy eyebrow review and the stuff he makes from lego is amazing! That trailer for wfc optimus prime for example. Gonna have a look in my old Lego chest myself now!
