My crack at Lightspeed, with a Shapeways head that's still being printed.

Absolutely MINT! Gorgeous! Can't wait to see the final version. Have you modded the arms for the door panels to sit in like that in car mode, or is it a trick of the paintjob on my mind?
On the gun front, have you considered nabbing an AOE Crosshairs/Hot Shot submachine gun for a slightly G1-ish-er sidearm? I got a pair in an ebay lot that I'm hoping to donate to my LightSTEED.

Nice! :thumb  Looking forward to that head, even though I'm going for the Takara set, 'cause ah need mah lightpiping!

I see a Space Shuttle on the backdrop. Foreshadowing?

I saw Lightspeed's gun on Shapeways once, the designer's German, but the description said it's 5mm, so I think it'll work fine.

Wait a minute, did you get your hands on an actual Lightspeed from Japan, or did you paint that from CW Wheeljack?

Thanks! Yes that's a trick with the silver paints (on Wheeljack that part is green). And thanks for that idea about crosshairs guns, a crosshairs nowadays cost much less than a pair of printed gun for sure!

Thanks! my shapeways head is still at shapeways. Now that said, mine will have light piping since I am printing with translucent material, but the takara head likely won't :)

Killed and painted a wheeljack. They are everywhere these days.

    Thanks ...

Looks pretty awesome :)  I need to post the v2.0 Lightspeed I did for my Computron, it's pretty close to yours. :)

BTW, how did you get paint to stick to the spoiler? Tried painting mine, but it all just peeled off in one big sheet :/

So far it is sticking :)  I washed it with dish detergent first, just soak overnight, then applied a layer of primer. That might helped, but only time will tell.

Yes, I have plans for all four limbs since I already got my scattershot from the previous wave.

Better than Hasbro. Great job. Almost thought you had the unite warriors figure of a moment there.

I have a couple of ideas about the spoiler...

1.) Have Shapeways make reproductions of them, that plastic should be paintable as previous releases have shown.

2.) If that doesn't work, I'd clean it like OP said to, then I'd sand it a little bit to rough it up and then apply a thin layer of glue to it and let it cure. Paint and primer should stick to the glue layer once it's fully cured and bonded. (I could be wrong on this, but I'd be willing to at least try.)

Looks better than any of the official ones. I wish Takara's looked like this.

The UK by and large has a massive deficit of all CW figures. At the moment, the only CW figures we have are usually the white OP (his exact name I forget) and Cyclonus for the Voyagers, and the current Deluxes are still near enough just the protectobots. I think Onslaught was here at one point in Smyths stores, but it's unlikely we'll see him again (with where I'm working at the moment, I definitely won't :mad ). So no, Jackie is not everywhere. Goddamnit, I wish he was!
