Love the presence and character. Really very well captured. Dislike the compromised leg articulation, although Optimushed's pic is winning all kinds of high fives for demonstrating what can be achieved.

Great finish on the toy, a simple yet rewarding transformation and a real looker.

Cheers, but tbf I have modified the hip skirt slightly and cut away some of the plastic, it's hardly noticeable and can also achieve a sitting position.

Wrong Megs but you get the idea.

Was there any pics of Megatron using the tiny legends Reflector as a camera yet?

That looks like a good size for him. Thanks.

I was originally against buying this figure, mainly because I didn't like the longer fusion cannon. But after reading some of the older IDW comics (Escalation, Infiltration), I noticed it's kind-of accurate to how it looked back then:

Now I really need this figure. Saw him at a local convention for 50 bucks, don't think he's worth that much, but I'll probably get him at retail.

I love this figure so much that, even after buying two for my kids, I bought a 3rd one for myself so I would quit having to borrow theirs every day.

    :lol

I just cut the thin bits of plastic on the front skirt off with a Stanley knife. Nothing much to it really.

Be forewarned that this modification will affect vehicle mode.

In what way?, apart from 2 tiny bits of plastic missing it still transforms just fine.

I'm guessing it's because the pieces cut away were the ones that lock in between the rear treads in alt mode. They aren't necessary to lock, but I can see the aversion to make the change.

Got him last week and I'm just now getting to be sure on what to think of him.

    Pros:
    -Transformation is balanced nicely.
-The vehicle looks and feels amazing.
-Poseability is rather impressive for a bot that turns into what amounts to a brick on wheels.
-Would make a killer Generation 2 Megatron, which we'll probably never see, unless it's an exclusive that's ridiculously expensive.
    -Lightpiping is ridiculously well done.

    Cons:
-Incredibly light and hollow. (Very disappointing.)
-Just because the poseability can be impressive, doesn't mean it always is. The ratchets are too wide set and lead to big problems. They make poses rather difficult depending on what you want to do with him.
-His cannon is ridiculously long and it's kind of a mess. The tail end is all G1, but the front end has the gimmick and makes sense to face forward, but it's offset a bit and looks like an extra appendage dangling off the back of his arm kind of like MakeToys version of Hook.
-It tries to do a bit too much, it's trying to be G1 as well as IDW and even a bit Masterpiece, but it's not quite any of them. There are touches of each version and it works for the most part, but just misses hitting the target right in the bullseye on any of them. It's kind of confusing.

For the price, it's a nice figure but doesn't exactly wow, but it's definitely worth picking up, just don't expect it to work miracles. It's definitely the nicest official Megatron we've received in a very long time. I do recommend considering one of the 3rd party kits, the DX9 set in particular.

Got him and love him. Love the silver paint, and the G1 look. It's been awhile since we have gotten a genuine G1 style Megatron. He is a great stand in for a G1 mp Megatron until we get a new version at the current mp scale.

I was originally going to pass on him but I am very glad I did not. The entire combiner wars line has been outstanding. Well done hastak!

Light and hollow? What? Are we talking about the same figure here? The only hollow pieces are in his fists.

That is AWESOME. I also find myself reciting another line when I see my Megatron: "Welcome Laserbeak, unlike some of my OTHER warriors, you never fail me!" I need to set up Starscream, Laserbeak and the others nearby to make that scene work.

Nah the 3P add ons are rather unnecessary. I prefer it the way it is.

Open him up, the whole thing is a shell. There's no weight to him and all of his parts are hollow. A well made shell, but a shell nonetheless.

It was my opinion, I didn't say it was fact. If you prefer it as is, okay. *shrugs*
