Rook looks to be the worst for limb modes from the whole line.

Defensor looks really good besides rook. I like it alot.

Yeah, but what I wonder is are Hotspot's thighs going to be able to stay stable, and not have the problem that Menasor had?

Gee...if only there was another guy who could replace him that already matches the theme...and kind of already lost his spot on Superion now that psuedoSlingshot is coming...

Damn it, the legs for Defensor are the same legs for Hotspot. So this thing is going to have the same issue as Menasor.

The legs are going to be a mess. Hopefully not but, this is a known issues on combiners, so I don't see how this would be different.

Anyone that has taken apart Motor Master knows the size of the springs and what the issues could be without REALLY strong springs.

I am starting to think that Hasbro knocked it out of the park with Superion, and they are getting lesser and lesser as they go.

At least this looks pretty good combined.

While this is all nice and all, NOW I'm REALLY curious to see what or how Takaratomy tackles the Rook issue...and makes a replacement in the form of a deluxe sized Groove, just so that they can up the nerd-rage factor! :p

I combine Optimus with 4 protectbot limbs. He looks so great!!!!!!!!
Their colors match so well. Maybe i need to buy another set for Optimus use.
And then I think Hot spot and cyclonus will be available this weekend.
    Someone local retailer told so.

It seems like the Superion configuration (arms for thighs, legs to fill out the upper torso and add the shoulder sockets) should just be the default going forward, it helps so much with the proportions of everything.

Defensor looks cool, though I think Hot Spot on his own looks cooler.
It's too bad Groove isn't in there instead of Rook.

I don't like his (or Optimus's) combiner gun. Plugging two rifles together butt to barrel is pretty lazy. Other than that I think he's the best of the three.

He looks really damn awesome. He pulls off the hulking brute way better than Menasor. Plus, extending Hotspots legs actually works quite well.

I'm sure there will always be those who want 3rd Party engineering at Legends class prices, but for what you're paying for in the market you're buying from, this is an awesome set.

EDIT: First Aid and Rook deffinitely make the best arm pair.

The legs look different to Menasor. Yes they are using Hot Spots legs but it doesnt mean that the same issues exist with him.

It just looks different to me which hopefully is a sign it will be better then Menasor even though I actually love that combiner.

Is whining all you do? "Not geewun" this and "where's my oversized motercycle" that and lots of "how dare anything not from my flawed 80s cartoon even think for a second that it's allowed to exist!" Generations isn't generation 1, so if you want "perfect" geewun accuracy, either buy the G1 toy or wait for the MP. THOSE are your lines. Generations is for the rest of us, those of us who can handle the slightest bit of change.

I am loving this. I really dig the odd proportions, makes it look like a total brute.

I agree. I think its because Hot Spot looks anorexic in combiner mode. And he looks even worse once you add the big limbs... :(

Sorry I think he looks good. Its really hard to judge from photos. I reckon this guy will look great in hand.

CW Menasor looks better in person then any photos we got of him imo.

I am hoping you are correct, but the hip assembly looks really small. I have taken apart my fair share of figures, and there is no way the proper mechanism is in place to handle the weight. Have a look at this, and think 4 deluxes and Voyager need to be supported by that small crotch area.

There is no way. The springs will need to be extremely strong to support this.

Actually, if you look at that picture and Motor Masters picture, that hip assembly is very similar:
