Yeah, to be honest I kinda prefer that they went with Blackjack in the end. The Micrtomaster scale works better, and I think Runabout and Runamuck deserve their own deluxe figures at some point in the future. Of course that might just be because I had Runamuck as a kid, and my best friend had Runabout...

Fireflight's been covered so - Dragstrip's head colors at least are based off the original toy. Not sure about the design though.

Gonna guess that nobody is ever going to be able to use the name "Runabout" in toys except Star Trek ever again, since "runabout-class vessels" are an integral part of the Deep Space Nine franchise. Sure Trek isn't huge right now, but they are always making new toys and models for older series (good thing too, Eaglemoss is killing it!)

But you know, blame whoever you're habitually mad at, that works too :p

Oh yeah, Blackjack! Picked him up last night. He's pretty cool. Definitely see the Battlecharger influence, but also how he works for Rodimus (uncool that there's no spoiler in robot mode though!) Overall, I'm happy that he's Blackjack...the bio made me chuckle, and I'm not the biggest fan of the Battlechargers, especially if we'd get one without the other.

Don't know if I'll actually use him on Menasor's chest, but maybe the IDW fiction will win me over on that one.

Loose on mine too. I might coat Blackjack's holes with Future Floor Polish to give some added friction.

So, I am not sure if I am the only one, but I had a misassembled Blackjack. The arm are where the ball joint was pinned in was assembled upside down.

Not the end of the world in theory, but in actuality, that coupled with the tab Hasbro has keeps the arm from moving forward back in it's place. So Transformation becomes impossible.

Impossible unless you do 1 of 2 things:
1- Pop out the pin. Good luck with that one parents. Good luck with that.
2- You take out a razor blade and cut away that dumb tab there. Yet again, not the best for parents either.

If you push too hard, the hand rips right off.

I am wondering if I just got unlucky, or if others will have my same fate.

Such a shame too, he is a nice figure!

Blackjack's back doesn't have tab holes for you to mount the axe/fin thing on it :-( That's gonna cause problems when Rodimus comes out unless there's some remoulding we've not seen.

So does Blackjack actually peg into Menasor's chest when he's placed vertically as opposed to horizontally? Or does he have the same problems?

Picked him up today. Had to trim some flack out of the hole on the roof to make the axe attach. Having the same problem most are having with him staying in place on Motormaster and Prime.

Yes it does. Back of the car, there are two slots for the axe tabs to tab in.makes a cool Rodimus spoiler.

Not really caring much for this guy. Although what bothers me the most is the fact that his axe which is so obviously a sword hilt cannot become a sword hilt. It keeps me up at night, thinking I'm missing something...

I was. No way to attatch to the back of the robot without retooling.

If you can't attatch that's a big let down for Rodimus

The irony is that Rodimus's headsculpt will look more like Micromaster Blackjack than this version of Blackjack does.

The transformation on this guy is great - it amazes me that 30-years in, a toy at the Legends scale can find a new way to do "robot-into-car", but there you go. Car mode looks nice too.

Still, I'm a little underwhelmed. There are a few things that are just "off" about him. His arms sit a bit too low on the shoulders, the wheels on the upper arms get in the way when posing and (worst of all for me) the car canopy doesn't really lock into place when it splits up and becomes the chest/back kibble in robot mode. It's not super-floppy or anything, but it just sort of sits there, capable of shifting around on the torso and you just adjust it to taste, but never really feel "done."

Seriously...it's the tell-tale heart. I'm of a mind to just nab a dremel and make the damn hole myself.

I cannot get his shoulder to move in for the transformation...

I already have really bad stress marks.

    How do I fix this?

Edit: I have the backwards shoulder piece...great...

Hmm... So do all Blackjacks have that shoulder issue? Because looking at the pictures that started this thread, it seems that Shark Jumper's does too based on the vehicle mode pic.

That's rather worrisome with mine coming in next week..
