Well this is strange... Is it because he's so loose fitting on Menasor?

Hasbro only make so many of each figure. One they sell out, that's it. Blackjack is just more popular apparently.

Reading comprehension is an awesome thing.

All that means is that Hasbro isn't sitting on a gajillion cases of wave 2 CW Legends right now, and EE can't get more (at this moment). Hasbro doesn't continually make toys as stores order them, each assortment generally does its production run, and Hasbro moves on to a new run of new toys. Right now, Hasbro's already produced as much wave 2 as they need to and can't get more inventory to Entertainment Earth.

Doesn't mean Hasbro won't rerun him, or he won't cycle into a future assortment. Both things they've done in the past.

So... Exhaust part 2, where people couldn't care less before will now swoop into stores and start buying him up?

Yep. Remember Springer and Sandstorm? Or Waspinator and Skids? Hasbro sold out of all the toys they produced, so they told the factory to make more. Same deal with their Stormtroopers and Marvel Legends figures.

Jazz, your email said discontinued production, not that the toy has been officially discontinued. Which means that EE asked Hasbro for more stock, but Hasbro said sorry, we're all out, and we can't make more at the moment because the factory is busy making Constructicons and whatever Galvatronus is. That doesn't mean there won't be more in the future. After Sandstorm, Skids, Waspinator, Stormtroopers, etc. sold out, it took a long while (several months) before Hasbro shipped out the reissues since they had to adjust their production schedule and insert the second/third/whatever runs.

I know but why not just say NO LONGER IN STOCK...they went with Discontinued. There's a difference in the two... But what do I know. Maybe ur right and they do another run later about a year or so. I heard for another source that Combiner Wars will stretch out over 2years and will produce another titan combiner next year

I think it's to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. If they said "sold out" they probably think someone will reply asking if they'll get anymore. The way they worded the email, it answers that question before it's even asked.

Swerve and Cosmos had additional production runs last year with a gap of months between the first run and later run. Maybe Blackjack isn't being produced at the moment since Hasbro might be starting the production run of Rodimus right now. They use the same tooling aside from the heads.

Also Combiner Wars going for 2 years isn't some secret leak, that news came from Australia Toy Fair last week.

In other news, the sales of CW Rodimus and black paint have increased exponentially.

When I first saw this thread I thought maybe something about him was deemed hazardous to Children so they blocked any further sales?

Not to mention that all the wave 1 CW figures have solid cases coming in June, if the patterns hold these guys will get solid cases in july/august. Don't worry about it.

You also have to take into account that Combiner Wars figures have been released in some really low numbers. Hasbro admitted to some production problems a while ago. I think most of us assumed that it would have been fixed by now, but this post makes me think otherwise.

Plus with CW Megatrons showing up in stores at insanely low stock (four figures at a time at best)...it just goes to show that things are not 100% just yet with the CW line.
