In all seriousness, I'm really looking forward to these Combiners. I do hope, however, we get Generation 2 repaints eventually, especially Menasor since they cancelled the original release.

 

He's not. Only a select number of legends are actually meant to interact directly with the larger bots. So far those include Blackjack and Powerglide. Meanwhile the upcoming Legends Huffer, Bombshell, Windcharger, Thundercracker are all just regular non-combining figures meant to fill out the line.

 

Huffer doesn't combine with any of the combiners, he's just a straight recolor and slight retool (the head) of Legends Optimus. He's the only one revealed so far who doesn't- Powerglide can become a gun for Superion, and Blackjack becomes Menasor's chest piece, but Huffer is just Huffer. Time will tell if he plays any part in Combiner Wars fiction.

Does anyone know if this annoying multilingual packaging will be on the U.S. releases, too? I mean, I know why they have to do it for European packaging with the language laws there, but it is kind of annoying. The thing that bugs me about it most is the "bios" like 'Autobot Intelligence Specialist" or something similar. Just WAY too truncated, especially with the nice bios we've gotten with the IDW Deluxe Generations over the past year or so.

But I suppose if that's the worst that there is, I'm pretty lucky.

 

Im really liking Blackjack, will definitely pick him up when he releases. If i recall he's Menasors chest plate right?

 

Evidence does seem in favour of the multi lingual stuff for the US this coming year.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the multi-lingual laws are Canada, not Europe. Here it's more for ease of distribution through multiple countries.

 

I'd lay money on the SDCC set this coming year being a G2 Combiner set of some description

 

Aren't the Legends class figures for the Combiner Wars line supposed to become accessories for the combined figures?

Powerglide becomes a gun for Superion.

Blackjack becomes a chest-shield for Menasor.

So does Huffer become a ....what... for uhm.. Supermode Optimus?

Is it just me or does anyone else think the packaging for Combiner Wars looks knock off? Maybe it's non-traditional/less stylised font used for TRANSFORMERS that's confusing me.

The actual hilt of Menasor's sword is Motormaster's gun.

But, now you've said it, I think I'd have prefered that to then plug into the Blackjack piece to make the hilt a different colour.

 

Yeah the European packaging has a lot more languages on it. This packaging is for Canada and South America.

Don't worry, on the 4 language packaging you still get the full bio, just fully translated in all 4 languages. Us lot in UK just have to suffer....  

 

It's not the languages so much, I'm used to that, it's the graphic design of the packaging, it looks lazy. It not a big problem but compared to the IDW comic book packaging I do think it makes the toys look cheap.

I don't really care so much as I don't buy much CHUG and have no love for combiners.

I'm pretty sure the Legends Starscream mold didn't have any spots for ports. (Legends Thundercracker is also supposed to come out)

 

It's pretty stupid that they repainted Optimus as Huffer. I'm disappointed.

 

The head on Blackjack SCREAMS 3 potential repaints in the forms of Runamuck, Runabout, and Goldbug. All we need for Runabout is red windows on Blackjack and viola. 

 

You post made me realize. Since Motormaster is a remold of Optimus Prime, would the Blackjack compatibility be molded in to Motormaster, or would the feature have originated from Op? Maybe we're getting a Goldbug, or at least something that has Blackjack's functionality for Op's combined form.
