Just to add to this Optimus debate thing. SS38 is the only figure that I've actually returned, and I did because he was full of quality issues such his right arm wouldn't stay on at all, many parts of the legs refused to line up, etc. I also compared him to Siege and Siege just looked better and closer to what I preferred for the look of Optimus. Since returning it, I've seen it dozens of times and not once have I felt the desire to get a replacement, as while he does look great, the reasons as stated, just pushed me away from this figure. Between Siege and Earthrise, both have their pros and cons. Siege being the kibble on the arms as the main one, the transformation being a bit finicky, the gun being cheap single mold that's full of gaps piece. The lack of a trailer was a huge con for me. Earthrise's main con was the colours for the eyes (and blue face) and the whole grey parts for the legs. The trailer while great to finally have one, it's terribly dull and absolutely undersized, and the lack of roller is just another show of being horribly cheap from Hasbro. His arms should have been a tad more forward for a better range of motion, and the trailer hitch should have been about 5mm further back to allow actual turns in vehicle mode. You can see that there's 2x 5mm ports under the trailer where supports for when it would be opened were probably planned and simply not done/included. The remold of the Siege legs that looses the transformation aspect is quite lame as something better could have been done, fairly easily, especially since now, by doing it how they did it, the back of the legs are all kibble. No axe either, and the "shield" from the trailer's door is horrible. All this to say: These "cons" is just terrible for a figure of this price range (70$ CAN). For the pros: The ER version is a simpler transformation, elegant even, and the figure does looks amazing. While the trailer is a cheap thing in almost every way, it's still a trailer. I just fixed most of that yesterday (Minor/Repaint: - Earthrise Optimus, paint and customizing, with Cog "Roller" for anyone interested). That said, between the two, I would say that it's hard to say that ER is better. I would instead say that it's simply very different. I still really like the Siege version, being the "Cybertronian" version, as long as I ignore the lack of a trailer. But the ER version keeps growing on me (with a good part of this growth being due to my modifications). I plan to keep both, but it's hard to not pick ER OP as my definitive "Prime". If I absolutely had to pick, ER does win (again, my customization makes a huge difference). If ER had been out before Siege, odds are, due to the lack of trailer, Siege version would have most probably been a pass. And that's how Hasbro gets you.
