This shot reminds me of this shot
The pics below apply to multiple thread topics (3rd party, Combiner Wars, Reprolabels, Siege, etc.) so I apologize if you see them multiple times.
Pictured below is my Combiner team for Nova Maximus (from left):
I've got the TDW Defensor kit coming in the mail as well as a KO G2 Bruticus (to make a new Slingshot) and I can't wait. The listing I got the kit from said US version in the title but it showed the JP version in the pics. Doesn't matter to me, since the blues being off doesn't bug me much. Still I'm hoping it's the US version.
That orange Vortex would probably make a decent Evac with a little paint.
Finally found another limb bot so I'm now able to complete my custom Nova\Nemesis Prime combiner.
And group shot
I finally finished applying all the Toyhax labels on the Pyrocons:
Flame - Evil Autobot mad scientist:
Skyjack - G2 Cyberjet:
X-tinguisher - Homage to Marlboor:
Knight of the Fallen - Servant of Megatronus, who knows who his former identity was:
Smolder - Homage to the Power Core Combiner:
Combined mode, whom I call Infernocus:
Picture of Inferno from Toyhax:
Had an idea. Trying to get a mock-up. In short, Shattered Glass Prime, obsessed with combining, using (dead) Alpha Brave, Rook, Offroad, and jet-Blastoff as limbs, and a Brunt figure painted as Omega Doom for an arm cannon and backpack bits. Figured people might like to see the monster so far.
Lookin real good.
A user once said to me, "you gotta upgrade your life"
I've begun to take that advice.
Keeping up with the upgrade theme.
@Dark Starscream I’m not sure if you’re into 3D printed accessories but on shapeways, you can get stuff that was designed specifically for this set. Like for example, skyjack’s head.
Master Spy's Head Combiner Version by SteamShield on Shapeways
It's not easy to make that Prime mold look good as a combiner but you've done it. Also digging the way you combined Rook and Groove.
I did see those on shapeways, those are very cool! Maybe at some point down the road I might pick those up. I don't have much experience in painting these parts though. Also, some of the stuff I've gotten from shapeways has just been very bumpy looking and a very different texture from the smooth parts that they're fitting onto.
For example, I bought an arm cannon for Titans Return Megatron, which looked great in the picture online, but it was so grainy and unpolished that it just didn't look right.
What type of plastic should I be getting from shapeways?
I know the grain look you’re talking about. Smooth fine detail is pretty much what you want to get. This isn’t my picture but it’s a picture of a replacement piece I had commissioned for the pretender shells in potp. You can see how smooth fine detail looks next to official plastic. For paint I use oil based paint pens.
