So let's talk about the helicopter mold for a moment.

    Crazy_copter1.jpg

Did you know that UW-07 Vortex had further retooling than just his rotor? His HFG port was also made thicker!

    Crazy_copter3.jpg

Unfortunately, prior molds have been susceptible to breakage on such a vital port due to how thin it was originally molded...

    Crazy_copter2.jpg

The Hasbro versions of Alpha Bravo, Blades, Vortex, and UW-03 Blades use this tooling.

My question is, how many other versions of this mold use the original, thinner tooling, and how many use the new tooling, barring UW-07 Vortex. I only own the molds I've mentioned in this post at this time, so I am unsure about figures like the Victorion twins, G2 Vortex, Spinister, etc. I imagine Takara's Ro-Tor/Hepter figure would use the tooling, and I'd certainly hope their Megatronia choppers would use it, but only time will tell.

    Original, thinner tooling
    -Hasbro Alpha Bravo
    -Hasbro Blades
    -Takara Graze(Blades)
    -Hasbro Vortex

    Newer, thicker tooling
    -Takara Vortex

If anyone has versions of this mold absent from this list and can inform me of which HFG port tooling they use, it would be very appreciated.

    Thank you.

I saw this on a Optibotimus review and plan on doing this with Roadburn and whoever else they make out of the mold.[IMG]

No, it's not a Renderforms gun, but a knockoff Defensor gift set gun that I still had and gave to Swindle. Here's a picture of it. Swindle's arm cannon.JPG

Does anyone else have a problem with the perfect effect feet falling off Offroad?

The deluxe molds have varying tolerances like that, not specific to any character. The 5mm ports are all over the place. Best solution is thicken the 5mm post on the feet with some super glue.

I dunno if it is that because the stock HFG fits perfectly.

Then the solution is definitely to thicken the peg on the PE foot. That should do it.

That's the crazy thing, when I use him as an arm (which I don't do often) he's perfectly fine, but I think it's the other upgrade, because I think it's the angle mixed with the shape of the back of his alt-mode forces it out.

Have you try switching up the feet it worked on my Breakdown. Left fell off, right didn't so left was made to become right and vice versa.

I have problems of the perfect effect feet potentially breaking his hand/foot port. I'm afraid to use anything other than the stock hand/foot gun as that still works fine.

That is very interesting. I have the same mold that you have, but also Victorion and G2 Brute. I'll have to look into it. Off the top of my head, I'd say G2 still has the thin port.

Looks like Hasbro has stuck with the thin walls on the port. Both Victorion and G2 Bruticus have them.
