Combiner teams are some of the best things about Transformers I like. I was wondering which team of combiners would be a good mini series? For my persoal choice I would like to go back to the classic of Aerialbots versus Stunticons. So what would any of you fans out there pick?

i'd want something that wasn't done before in the comics.

    like perhaps computron verses abonimus.

maybe some G-1 Japanese combiners like liokaiser verses roadcaesar. or dinoking verses landcross.

As long as it's not Devestator again, sick of him.

And not the Seacons either, that was such a lame idea.

My pick would be the Protectobots, who don't seem to get much coverage vs any of the other non-mentioned Decepticon combiners, as they're all pretty cool.

Protectobots got a bit of focus in War Within Volume 2, the Dark Ages, so you might want to check that out. Part of the story had the five of them fighting one of the Decepticon combiners, and their debating whether or not they ought to get involved.

Personally, I'd like to see a series focus on the Predacons, playing to their "ultimate hunter" credentials. Nothing like setting them up against the greatest opponent for the best test of their skills for a couple of issues. Or alternatively, the Terrorcons. They've only had small appearances in the IDW books, but what was shown of them, they've got ties with Sixshot. Given what happened with Sixshot in the Revelations quartet, they could quite nicely be brought into the fold in a story dealing with their past with Sixshot, their connection to the lone warrior now, and also (this could apply to any combiner team story though) the story of how they cope with the changes made to their bodies to turn them into combiners.

I'd like a series of combiner Spotlights where the combined robot tells us how he feels about each of his component parts. Would be amusing to have Defensor complaining about having Groove as one of his legs.

Combiner spotlights would be great, thats where I was aiming this thread topic. When are we going to see the Aerialbots again? How about Computron...unused characters is why comics die, I'm just saying.

Wellll.... the problem there is that combiner technology is kind of new in the IDW universe. Monstructor was the first, I believe, and he was considered a failure. Devastator came next; I can't remember if the Constructicons got their combiner tech on-panel or off-panel. And Menasor is the newest; the Stunticons got the tech in Ongoing #5. So as far as we know, there are no other combiners in IDW.

    Combaticons or Stunticons.
