Given the popularity of 3rd party combiners like TFC Toys Hercules and Ares, why hasn't hasbro released a set of voyager or deluxe class combiners? It seems like it would get people excited for the next wave of figures if they did one piece of devastator or predaking per wave.
Sidenote: Wow, these spammers lately are really making me paranoid. I actually checked if your post contains any hidden links before replying to it. Because that would be a horrible way of distributing combiners. Your proposal wouldn't get people any more "excited" for future waves than they'd already be if those waves didn't contain a single combiner component. If anything, it'd result in the opposite reaction. Distribution is already frustrating enough, imagine trying to complete a combiner that is spread across several waves. Remember the Energon combiners? Or Beast Hunters Abominus? A lot of people resorted to buying missing components online.
One thing Hasbro has said in the past is they don't want to put that many of a similar type thing out at once. To put out a Devestator, it would be 6 construction vehicles at once. If a person doesn't like contruction vehicles, there is nothing in that wave or waves to buy. Hasbro doesn't like that. They want a variety thinking that at least 1 thing per wave will make someone want it. One thing they could do if they don't want to have 4 deluxes and a voyager out too complete it is release 3 voyagers. 1 true voyager and 2 voyager boxes with 2 deluxes in each. But they are putting out a Superion so they are changing their minds.
Hopefully they'll be released all in one wave like the FOC Combaticons to avoid all of that frustration of searching for components
Forgive my ignorance, but I had no idea Hasbro was putting out a gestalt Superion. Was that one of the reveals at Botcon ? Are there any pics of it yet ? I would love to see it....
If we really are getting four combiners next year, I wonder if they'll ship one at a time or two at a time. Voyagers come in cases of four and Deluxes come in cases of eight, so theoretically case assortments next year could look like: Voyager 2015 Wave 1: 4x Silverbolt Deluxe 2015 Wave 1: 2x Air Raid 2x Fireflight 2x Skydive 2x Slingshot or they could (more likely) look like this: Voyager 2015 Wave 1: 2x Silverbolt 2x Motormaster Deluxe Wave 1: 1x Air Raid 1x Fireflight 1x Skydive 1x Slingshot 1x Breakdown 1x Dead End 1x Drag Strip 1x Wildrider The retailer need only order twice as many Deluxe cases as he does Voyager cases, and there can be two combiners on the shelves at one time. I think the first scenario would lead to massive shelfwarming, especially if the fans judge the combiner to be inferior.
why does everyone think that is superion? since when did he have a helicopter for an arm and very blocky figures for the legs?
