Well the Original Animated Black Arachnia did have a gun that was like a grappling hook thing with string. So I'd guess you are probably right.

I'm loveing all three of these fine femmebots!   Is it strange that I feel Nightbird looks better than Arcee??

Would have really preferred to have had an all new mold for BA... but if this is all we can get, I will certainly take it! Her head mold is 100% accurate and the remolding really did her robot mode justice! The only read downside about sharing this mold is that her heel and foot are separate and split... making it hard for her to stand.... who knows??? Maybe they fixed it??? Also, correct me if I'm wrong... but her show model never had any purple right? Just curious as to why she would have purple on her... at any rate... now I no longer have the urge to get the Telemocha BA!  

 

I originally just preordered Slipstream. I think I'm gonna add Nightbird. As stupid as this sounds, I am deathly afraid of arachnids, to the point I cannot even stand to look at pictures or toys of them. So as neat as her coloring is, I have to skip Blackarachnia.

As for the Combiner Hunters Femme 3 Pack, I'm currently looking for someplace to nab them. I'm determined to get them. 

 

Based off a Google image search, it appears that her feet were some shade of purple, but I don't know why they put it on her hips.

Edit: I really like the Blackarachnia as sort of a purely mechanical version of the character although I wish they had remolded her forearms as well so she could have her claw hands.

So im looking at a beast wars blackarachnia and shes gold and purple. Um can you guys help me out? Does that gold on it suffer from crumbling gold syndrome? Or should i get the crystal widow repaint

 

Thats what i meant. The beast machines one is sexy lol. I actually like the crystal widow color scheme. Whats a good price for either. Cant believe how good both modes look. Shit i want a masterpiece blackarachnia now! 3p get on it (cracks whip)

 

The TFA Blackarachnia mold's abdomen can be removed so for those who hate the abdomen on the retooled BW version you can remove it to make her a little more show accurate.

I also hope that a 3rd party company can make new arms that resemble her seasons 1 and 2 claws to make her even more show accurate.

 

You can have mine. Out of the three, I think Slipstream looks TERRIBLE.  
The colors are kind of meh, and the face just kills the deal for me. I'd rather get a second Blackarachnia or Nightbird.

It's the 20th Anniversary of BW. There's a slim chance BA will make it onto the MP list. But I'd bet on BW Optimus instead.

Damn it, I want to like Slipstream so bad, but that head just absolutely kills it for me. It looks so dumb and goofy.

The super happy head on Slipstream is sort of weird, but she's the only one I'm interested in, so at worst I'll just commission a painted Shapeways head or something.

 

I'm thinking the same thing. In the prototype pics it didn't look quite so... hmm. Not sure what it is, it just looks out of place with the rest of the figure. The smooth lines on it don't seem to fit with the rest of the aesthetic, maybe?

To be fair, I thought the same about Arcee's face, too, but not quite as strongly as here.

Not so sure about ordering her now.

 

BBTS, Robotkingdom, Hobby Link Japan, or Anime-Export. Each has it's pros and cons (i.e. price, location, preorder payment requirement, shipping).

 

Hmmm... That goofy grin Slipstream has is a bit of a put off, but I'm still gonna pick up her and Blackarachnia for sure. I'm still a little iffy on Nightbird. I mean I don't really need her, and Imports are pricey, but she does look cool.
