But I thought we were all supposed to buy as much as possible all the time, even if we don't need it. Yay for that guy for being a good capitalist. Haven't you all been paying attention to the people in charge of you, sharing the wealth would be wrong, you darn communists.
Playing devil's advocate here, sometimes I DO buy up multiples of characters, and I often DO hook others up. When I buy 3-4 Kups, Wheeljacks or Warpaths, it's not that I'm hording...but it's because I know that there's 3-4 other collectors either locally or online who can't get them. I know that there are two other friends of mine who don't drive and have work schedules that prevent them from going out at reasonable times, so I often pick up 3 or more of a new figure...one for me and two for them, and maybe one more for a bud online or what not. It sucks as a collector sometimes, but it's like a game. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose. But you always have to consider other alternatives rather than just that the person is a scalper.
I'm sure this pic makes sense to people who have seen dotm....but what is that? I kind of see something that looks like a golden dial plate from an old phone in the middle of some contorted metal with 2 yellow lights on it. What part of what bot is it? I'm guessing the shoulder of ravage?
first come first serve. you snooze you loose. too bad too sad. you whine, i whine reggae style. i wish i bought more wreck-gars at once or clean out the shelves but i can't afford to do that.
just order the freaking case wave of what you want (generations classics whatever)..keep the ones you want...resale the others on ebay or on the junkion exchange...way easier than wasting time and gas hoping your local retailer might have what you are looking for...
There is always a chance that he is hooking up other collectors. Without asking him that, I can't tell you if he is a scalper or not. Is Leader Ironhide really worth scalping right now? Hell, I picked up 14 Walmart Deluxe Optimus Primes on clearance yesterday, I probably looked like a scalper, but I have already given away two to friends kids, two to locals, and The Giving tree is going to be happy with them this year. There are reasons outside of scalping why someone would buy multiples, and even if so, it really is his right to do so. I would have atleast chatted him up a bit more. I have run into a fair amount of local collectors on stock days (When Ross started getting RTS, when MP Roddy came out), and all of them are pretty damn decent. Hell, I bought (at different times) seven MP Rodimus, 3 for me, 4 for other collectors.
I saw DOTM, and it doesn't make sense to me, either. No, I can't see a head or a hand, so no face or palm, either. Seriously, I'm sure that if someone said "this is X" that I would be able to see it immediately for what it is, but without that, it's too murky to make out. TL;DR "*Facepalm*" is not a useful response to the question "what is that?"
where as if I was a woman I would probably say something like "is it in yet?" It's a shame that they didn't design the movie verse toys to be easily recognisable
If he's a scalper, he's certainly a noob one. If I can find Leader Ironhide in my shitty hunting grounds, then anyone can. No need to pay scalper prices for it.
plus how much more money can you squeeze out of a leader priced toy? It's not like he is that hard to get...not like the amazon unicron frenzy a month plus ago... i can see folks trying to scalp deluxes that are exlusives *space case* or hard to find ones like warpath last spring...etc just not leader toys...you might sit on it like shadow command megs from ROTF and make some $$...but $50 is alot to tie up per unit hoping they appreciate in value...
