ok so i went to my local tru today to pick up a leader ironhide, called before i left they had 3 instock, while i was their i ran into a local collector, "he acts elitest about it" and he had all 3 ironhides.... i understand wanting one but serious all 3? i mean ive seen this guy pick up all the warpaths at my tru and walmart before, so as a collector would you do this and am i wrong for thinking he is a dbag?
sounds like a scalper. heard there's a lot in cali and nyc the most i usually take is 2, 1 to open and 1 to leave MISB
Certainly not. I wouldn't have caused a fight but I'd ask him angerly: " Why are you taking three Ironhides?"
Yeah, I can see picking up one for yourself and one for a friend, but buying three at one shot is pretty much scalping. If nothing else, it's inconsiderate.
This. I could understand it if you were getting more than one of certain figures, like Scourge for your Sweeps,or Crankcase for troop building, but taking all three Leader Class Ironhides isn't necessary.
Or he's customizing one or more of them. Or he's buying the toys for three children he has/knows. Or he's taking advantage of the $5-off coupons and buying three Ironhides to donate to charity. Or whatever. Granted, given that he's been seen buying "all the Warpaths" (ie - buying all of a high-demand toy), there is a good chance that he's a scalper. But, without some more solid evidence to prove that, if he has some reason to want 3 Ironhides and has the money to purchase them, what does it matter?
If you buy three Leader Ironhides when the shelves are crammed with Leader Ironhides, knock yourself out. If you buy three Leader Ironhides when there are only three Leader Ironhides on the shelf and there's another collector standing right there who wants one, yeah, you're a d-bag.
Well see, this is why I'd never harass anyone in a store for buying product, and also why I'm not one to hoard when there's others clearly wanting the same thing. I mean, not only do I have no way of knowing what their reasons are, but it's not like it's any of my business anyway. Similarly, it kinda ticks me off when people do this (especially at the grocery store when I'm wanting bread & somebody happens to empty the entire bin when I'm waiting), but I guess it's just part of the whole "first come first serve" mentality, and it's really not worth getting all Turbo Man on others about it.
That's different. They're cheaper and there will be more of them. Still, I think it would be a kind gesture to leave at least one or two for the kids.
