Every so often I get told by a Transformers fan that someone they know owns a collection worthy of being featured on our interviews. On other occasions I stumble across something on a forum or social media where my jaw hits the floor and I feel like a certain collection needs to be brought to the fandom’s wider attention. In the case of Virak Lim, those two things happened almost simultaneously. What I love about this hobby is that on many occasions, the fans with the amazing collections often end up being great people who are willing to share, communicate and pass on their experience to others. So here is Virak with his breathtaking collection and his story. Collector Interview 56 – Virak Lim | Source Blog All the best Maz
Dayum! That's a KILLER collection. Bravo. It's BEAUTIFUL! : I wish I had at least 10% of that. Jelly but in a good way. Grate interview Maz!
Nice set up. When i read the part about Fort Max flying through the air and breaking apart, i cringed in my chair. What a sight to witness. Super collection and super interview.
^ Yeah I was cringing and reeling back in my chair as I read the part about the flying Fortress Maximus. But man what a collection! Great interview!
Great interview and awesome collection. I am envious of all the space, there is a true "man cave!" How awesome! That's definitely one of the more impressive setups I have seen! The figures look well maintained and well displayed, great job! I cringed and also laughed as I read the part about the flying fort max. My wife is also alternatively supportive and tolerant of my collecting but she also reminds m that we need to set limits. I guess I occasionally test those limits and when that happens I am in for it. No flying transformers for me yet, but I have had to taste some wrath. She is always happy to see me sell stuff when I sell at a show or do another round of eBay sales. One really interesting thing about these interviews for me is wondering if the collector could have ever imagined as a kid that they would have this type of collection as an adult? 9-year old me would have never believed that I would someday have the stuff I have now. I wonder what our younger selves would say to our older selves if they met us today and saw the type of collections we have. Younger me probably would have just said "hey, can I play for awhile?!!" Great stuff.
I can't imagine the emotions that would be going through me as I watched a G1 Fort Max fly to its destruction. Most likely all the stages of grief in quick succession. But man, that is a fantastic collection.
Wow, that's some collection. That poor Fort Max Reminds me of Heel Wife on Youtube, though those are staged. Always love reading these, although I am now obligated to hate Mr. Lim for the next 2 weeks because his Patriots are playing my Falcons in the Super Bowl Hey, since this was an interview with a Pats fan, maybe the next one should be with a Falcons fan, right? Eh? Eh?
Jesus Christ. My eyes frantically scanned the next paragraph expecting to see the words "my now ex-wife".... I don't wanna get banned so I'm not gonna finish that sentence.
