Even though we’ve already had some incredibly insightful, enjoyable and entertaining Source Interviews in this blog section’s short life so far, I have been looking forward to this particular collector’s responses and images since the interview schedule’s inception. Few members of the community can boast such a wealth of diverse and thorough knowledge in addition to a catalogue of notable contributions, a reputation for being a great person and a simply phenomenal collection. Martin Lund is one of the shining examples of our hobby, a great ambassador for toy collectors everywhere and a proud family man. Enjoy the time we are about to spend with him.. Good interview. I'll take that black Tracks and blue Huffer from that last pic. What Huffer is that on the second row on the right?
Looks clear, maybe one of the lunchtime or genuine clear Takara in-house things from reissue Collection era? All the best Maz
Another wonderful article/interview Maz! Also love the pics, BTW. I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but it was your various articles and pics of Martin's collection on NTFA that inspired me to collect Mini-bots.
I'm a very big fan of this guy, especially his AWESOME Brave collection (where his online username "Fighbird" comes from, incidentally).
Thank you all for your very kind comments! And a big big thanks to Maz for the gracious and humbling introduction and overall having the patience and interest in wanting to talk to me. And that clear Huffer is indeed from the TF:Collection era and should be an in-house testshot of a possible prize version of the toy.
Why yes indeedly. The seller in question had a lot of clear white TF:C-era toys up at one point, and I took a stab at one of the cheapest ones and won. And thank you all again for your kind words.
This Martin is such a weirdo, meet him some time..he smells funny to ; ) J/K. Martin is one of the members I dealt with, talked to at my early years on the TF stage when I joined NTFA way back. He sold me my first reissue (Starscream), dunno what soon 8 years ago or so. HE is also one of the most easy to talk to, down to earth good guy. Maz, you know he was on some show called God morning Denmark or so showing of TF:s and telling about them. I think it still is on youtube.
Haha yeah he's quite the celebrity, I think one or two of the pictures in the interview I posted are ones he submitted for a Danish publication that interviewed him as well. I must find that YouTube link I think this month's intervieweee has been in European media as well at some point. All the best Maz
