So for this one I intended to take an old HISS 2 and turn it into Cobra Commander's personal combat vehicle. Paints are Krylon Fusion navy blue and satin black, then the red is a custom mix of Testors enamels that were airbrushed. Model Masters chrome silver was brushed on some of the plates for details and to help give the tank a bit of the same look as the Battle Armor Cobra Commander figure. I then satin cleared the black sections and gloss coated the rest. I know glossy tanks are not really practical, but seeing as how its the Commander's custom ride it seemed to fit. I used Cobrastickers.com HISS 2 repro decals. All in all I am pretty pleased with how it turned out and hope you like it. Thanks for looking! And the rest can be seen here... Thanks! This was always one of my favorite Joe vehicles and absolutely my favorite version of the HISS tanks. Thanks! I really intended to airbrush the whole thing, but when I saw that navy blue Krylon Fusion I knew it was the color I wanted. Thanks! Me too, I would like to try a few more color schemes on this one if they ever did. Thanks bro! Your input on it during its creation was a huge help as always
...that looks almost exactly like one I did years ago. Like, same shade of blue, silver details in the same places.... The only difference is I filled in the light bar on top. But wow.
I think the inset panels on this design really lend themselves to being painted, it feels like that is what they were originally intended for to me. As for the blue, I think its the universe telling us that Cobra vehicles really need to always be navy blue or black
