    No one said that. I can take offense at being labeled something without it affecting what I like.

    No softer than being preoccupied with why someone doesn't want to be labeled something they don't like.

    As I said: words do hurt. It's like asking someone, "Why let that nail you stepped on affect you?" It's a natural reaction to not like a label. If you like it, that's cool. I actually don't have an issue with it. I'm just explaining why some may take issue with it.

    In a nutshell: Words hurt. That's all there is to it. That's the explanation.

    When arguments for or against the use of a word just turn into excuses to insult each other, the adult thing to do would be to end the discussion.
