Ok, now the first movie cleared up the confusion during production that Tyrese was in fact a Tech Sgt, not a Master Sgt as had been previously scripted. But how in the hell did he make Chief? That's going from E-6 to E-9 in a matter of 2 years? Impossible.

He should have been a MSgt (E-7) in this one, or maybe at the most, STEP promoted to a SMSgt (E-9). But not CMSgt, no way.

Depends on the branch of the military i guess.In the Army, an E-7 is a Sgt. First Class an E-8 is a Master Sgt ans an E-9 is a Sgt. Major

As far as the rest, my point is that they actually went through the trouble the first time to get it right, respecting us and what we do. Why would they overlook it this time?

As I said above, he could have maybe been STEP'd (STripes for Exceptional Performers) to SMSgt, but not Chief. I hope they explain it if this is the case.

 

first off, huge respect to you being in the air force  

this new squadron (NEST) was designed for fighting the cons. my guess is that he got a very quick promotion due to his involvement in the first battle, therefore his new rank. that's just my 2 cents

 

With his exceptional ability to bring it, a promotion is only inevitable.

The point I was making is that this story obviously takes place in a situation where extraordinary (and fictional) things are happening. A warring race of aliens landing on Earth is just as plausible as a greater-than-usual promotion in the military.

I suspect being one of the first units the TFs interacted with, Prime trusts those particular humans. He is in the scene where the plane is transporting and Unloading Optimus Prime.

I think I will be 'ok' with suspending disbelief for this issue...
