I think he was talking about the VCR game. The movie cast is loaded in ways I couldn't fully appreciate at age 8.

    Clue.

    An absolute classic.

I think you have to be in the right mindset when watching it to fully enjoy it. That is, leave brain at home, and have fun. (which isn't slighting it, just don't expect Shakespeare.)

Definitely one of my favorite movies growing up.

My Sibblings and I watched this movie awhile ago when it was it on HBO Family; We were surprised that Clue had a movie. We watched it and loved it. My parents said it sucked, but we found it amusing enough, especially since we kept pointing all in the things from games to each other and laughing.

I saw this on TV and loved it. Then it came on again and it had a different ending and I went "wait, what? that's AWESOME" and researched it a bit more.

$5? I need to go DVD hunting.

One of my favorite movies. Great pacing, EXCELLENT timing with the jokes. Some nice running gags through the entire thing too with wonderful dark humor. I still crack up at the singing telegram lady. And counting the bullets.

And here I thought I would be the only on to reference "Murder By Death" in this thread. I love that movie more then "Clue".

That is correct. I was talking about the VCR game. I posted that in response to the previous post about the VCR game. Which is why I linked to the imdb of the game.

I'd hate to see her now. It'd kinda depressing to see hot women in older movies only to find out they are old and wrinkly now. :lol

I'm going through my Muppet Show DVD sets now...
Beyond the '...Who's this again?' factor, there's also the 'wow...she used to be REALLY HOT' factor. Like Candace Bergen.

Ha! That's what I thought, but just wasn't sure.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Just googled her and found a picture from 2002 that looked pretty good, but then there was a more recent pic that was... well... a bit rough.

Thank god Heather Locklear will always look good. Well except for that mugshot. ;)

Whoa, necro thread from 13 years ago! And somehow I never commented back then. Ok I’m getting this in before it gets locked!

Clue is one of my absolute favorite movies of all time. First saw it when I was 7 years old, and it’s been a favorite ever since. It might be the first thing I ever saw Tim Curry in too, and that’s just a great place to start. No one ever Mentions the other actors, but Leslie Ann Warren as Scarlet was great. Madeline Kahn as Mrs White, Christopher Lloyd as Professor Plum & all the rest. Special mention to Lee Ving, who made for a Mr. Body that creeped me out by his mere presence as a kid.

They even did one better than nearly every other movie based on a game- they introduced new characters that added to the story that weren’t at the expense of the main characters. Take note, Resident Evil!

Really, Clue is an incredible template for how to successfully adapt a game into a movie.

The only downside is that it totally bombed at the box office. People at the time didn’t know how good they had it.

And just cuz: I love the intro music and the forboding atmosphere the scene sets.

Old threads don't tend to get locked here thankfully, especially with good reason for a bump. At most, you get someone making a joke about a "zombie thread" and they move on. I was on forums many years ago where people treated threads being brought back from more than a few months old like you kicked their kid or something. I never had respect for those people.

Makes me laugh more now, that's Michael Mckean aka Chuck Mcgill from Breaking Bad. Love seeing Chuck get smacked around.

One of the cooler things about the movie is that they actually wanted to do multiple endings so just like the game, literally everybody could have been the one who killed Mr. Body. In the end, I think there's only three endings (which were random in terms of which theatre had which) and of them only one really makes any kind of logical sense. Granted, you can't take this film seriously for a second and it's not perfect, but it doesn't need to be.

EDIT: Lol it was in the OP about the endings, shoulda read the thread first :lol
