I seriously doubt it'll be that mold. With all the Gun Safety Law crap, that's probably one mold Fun Pub wants to stay far, far away from.

I wonder if Megatron will be partnered with heroic Skywarp or Thundercracker (repainted from Cyb. Starscream) and the other set be the other seeker with another figure.

I thought Megs already seemed like a cat person/bot to me... Decepticons are cat people!

I guess it might be a repaint of Classic Megatron.. A totally new mold would be cool... but I hate to over-estimate the FP.

I'm curious about the production run for the Shattered Megatron add-on. The pre-Beast Wars Megatron add-on had a mere 400 or so units. By comparison, the Alpha Trion add-on had around 1200 units as I recall. Quite a difference. I don't necessarily see them making 1200 of the Shattered Megatron, but certainly they'll make way more than 400. Especially since he's a key component of the set theme.

Whatever the production run is, I don't think Shattered Megatron will be that hard to get. I am guessing that attendance at this year's con will be down compared to last year. 2007 had the live-action movie, the summer schedule, and arguably the hottest exclusive set ever. It was a unique combination of circumstances that will be very hard to recreate.

Assuming there are add-ons left, I think FP will likely offer them through the club like last year.

I hope the Shattered set is really cool, but I'm having a hard time getting excited about it.

I hope its a new mold, simply because voyager classics megs is a little bigger than OP, and the hero should sort of be a little smaller than the tyrant of the story, but I hope he isn't the other classics megatron. I'll be relieved if it is though, cause then I won't have to buy it, if it's cool though, I'm so screwed cause I'd have no way of getting to cincinnati :(  .

I wouldn't be so sure. Outside of last year, all of the Attendance exclusives have been insane on the aftermarket. Ratchet and BW Megatron regularly go over $300 apiece.

    Ebay:

Buy 2 of them and put the other up on eBay. At least in the first month or so, pretty much guaranteed to get double the cost (making yours free). The fact it is Megatron gives it better odds of going higher. That is what I did last year and the botcon set and add-on figures I kept, cost me nothing. Hotel room was also paid for.

As for hoping for a all new mold. Not going to happen. FP can't afford that and sell these at a rate people will buy them. A remold of a head and maybe another small part of the figure is remolded, but never an entire figure.

Now, that would rock. I'm not getting the figures, too expensive for my tastes, but that would be the perfect definition of what an exclusive should be, for me anyway. Not 'essential' (well, essential as a toy could be, anyway) but cool beyond words.

I'm just glad it's going back to a nice extra for your collection instead of the mess we had last year. Maybe all the flap and the uproar over the Classics Thundercracker stink put things back to these things are supposed to fun extras for the fans that can afford them not a way to somehow gouge fans that might not be able to afford it, or devide the fan base amoung the have's and have nots.

I've always been a fan of mirror universes, so I'm interested in seeing how the Mirror Universe Megatron ends up looking. Will he have a metal goatee like Alpha Trion? :D

Personality wise, I expect he'll be much like the Megatron that showed up in the miniseries...without the more tyrannical, bloodthirsty bits added. The miner who rose up to throw out the authoritarian (Even more so this time around) Autobot tyranny.
