I think this looks great and I am definitely open to the possibility of replacing my quakewave. However, FT quakewave is still fantastic (pun intended). IMO FT has nailed the "feel" of MP more than most. I am always amazed by the heft and quality when I pick up any of my FT figures. So this will be a tough fight to my shelf but either way the more options the better.

I have to admit I am really surprised by the strength of the reaction that thinks this looks better than Quakewave, considering how beloved that figure is (or was, until this morning). :D

the more i look at it the more its just NOT G1 shockwave. someone else said it..its trying to draw inspiration from too many sources. its definitely "updated" and in my opinion the only upgrade seems to be slihgtly curvier (although more angled is more accurate...it still don't curve like the g1 toy or toon does) legs/feet. everything else looks WRONG for G1 shockwave but its a nice "update"...

There are quite a few of us that never liked the look of QW and didn't/wouldn't buy him, even at the original $140 price. This thread just gave us a place to congregate.

Quakewave has always had detractors, and the criticism posted today is nothing new. This "shitstorm" is nothing - just wait until there's a color prototype out, the volume of bitching for and against either/neither/both will go way higher. Everyone has their opinions about QW's shape,a nd there's some room for discussion there, but talking shades of purple is a completely different religion.

For some reason, Quakeblast looks feminine to me. Probly cuz of the V-waist... Idk

Id go for the re-re-release of FT Quakewave or get the KO if its any good

Yeah I'm good with my Quakewave. I payed 325 for it goddammit. The upper body on this looks okay, but I don't really like the thin legs.

So, you're saying that those that hold opinions about both shape and color are unreasonable? Criticism of shape is valid, but of color is not? What "religion" taught you to draw that arbitrary distinction?

Shape and color are both used by our visual processing system to recognize patterns (access memories). If you want to hash out which is more important, I'd put my money on color.

Me too. The only thing better is the part below the knee and even then it lacking Quakey's ankle pivot. Upper body is too stylised and V shaped for me. It's supposedly cheap so I might pick one up to try and mod the legs onto the upper Quakewave to have a near perfect Shockwave. See if it even sees the light of day first.

Anyone else think the thighs are a bit small? Looking at the comparison pics, they look a lot shorter than QW's.

As a new collector who never had a chance to get Quakewake at retail, I am certainly going to be keeping an eye on this one. I'm not paying $300 on ebay for QW, but if the rumour of another run on him is true then I'll have a choice to make between that and this. And then if the rumour of TT doing one as well (personally I dont believe it) then that's even more choice!

But as it is right now, put me down as interested in this one.

So. This is a "retooled Quakewave KO" according to the news hound and will have people moving on their Quakewaves on the basis of ...........what exactly?

Not wishing to pay inflated secondary market prices I do get, but on the basis that we know nothing about the quality or build of this "thing" might a little wait and see be in order before we all declare QW done?

And if this was Chug/Voyager size I would have been delighted. We need one of those way more than yet another MP Wannabee.

I really like the proportions on this one, looks like a nice figure to display.
