Wonder if there's another run planned in the future?

I remember my original copy came with a solid purple hand along with a clear version. I haven't see it included in any of the newer runs though.

Wish I got this when I had so many chances before. I have the official (v1) and while it is still pretty rad, I would much prefer to have this beast.

Yea on my copy it didn't come with the Solid purple fist, come to think of it mine was the 2nd batch as only the 1st batches came with the solid purple fist. Thankfully though I was able to buy the purple fist on eBay for someone parting with his. Best $5 I spent lol.
Also looking @ the link,it appears he has a spare blaster hand.

Quakeblast is a beast, but I gotta ask about the MT despotron with the MP head. Can he still transform?

Still the best MP G1 Shockwave. In build and stature.

Love this figure, it’s one of those MP figures that when designed really good it can last through the years. Don’t need no version 2,3,4 etc prefer this over all the MP Shockwaves.

No, but it's not really the head that stops him. Even if it got in the way it's just on the original ball joint it can be easily popped off. If you notice I've removed the panels from his lower legs too. I think it makes him look much more streamlined, you don't really notice they aren't there till you see one that still has them.

Before you think I butchered him I didn't lol. 3 days after I bought him(long ago) his weak knees or ankles gave out and he took a shelf dive. He completely exploded! I couldn't find a peice of his torso for weeks.

Eventually I peiced Humpty Dumpty back together. I locked his knee sliders permanently and polished the shit out of his ankles. Slowly started adding and taking away parts till I ended up with this. I've got MP-36 also and I honestly usually have Despotron in my display instead. Love the toys aesthetic but Maketoys really dropped the ball on hardware imo. Anyways that's the story sorry if its TMI.

Thank you for the heads up! I was the winner of the auction. Is there anything I should look for? The pictures seem to include an after market upgrade? I asked the seller about the solid chest and was told that there is a pink paper behind the plastic to mimic the toon? Thanks in advance for any info as I dredge through this forum.

@imest Congrats man! You won him for a pretty good price especially since it has the purple fist and an extra gun hand lol. Things to watch out for off the top of my head is to be EXTRA CAUTIOUS around his gun hand if you transform him to gun mode as it's translucent and when you put either silver barrels on,you run the rush of it snapping off. Also the gun handle "hinge" is super sketchy as it feels like it not suppose to bend like that for transformation. I would be cautious transforming it as it's an old figure and it's possible the plastic might've weaken overtime. Hope that helps.

I remember mine being super tight in the leg ratchets when I first got him, like scary tight. Took some silicone shock oil to him before I moved him a bunch or transformed him. So I guess watch out for that.

If he didn't handle the figure much It probably wouldn't hurt to take precautions, especially as mentioned above going into your 1st transformation. Of course the barrel is a well know issue to watch out for. I've never used the barrel part, only the backpack cause I'm a chicken...

A shame Cloud9 didn't contend in the MP realm some more with other figures.

Thanks for the info! My Despotron's quality was pretty good, just had to do the knee fix on his right leg and then he was pretty solid. He does look better with the lower leg panels removed, although I doubt I'll bother. I've always thought Despotron looked like he could kick the shit out of MP-36, so I use him as my Megatron. I do have a KO MP-36 as well, so i might try the head swap.

It was actually black though...man was I disappointed to find that out.

I made my own gray "Shackwave" by repainting a purple first release along with swapping some translucent parts from the black version though:

I wasn't a Shockwave fan, until Cloud 9 released photos of their upcomming figure. Well, its bulk and imposing figure got me interested, and I ended up getting the black version as it looks a lot more menacing. Now, I need to acquire an OS Weijiang Combaticon team, to make it complete.
