Heh, even though I have this for years, I only just today tried Transforming him:


I mean, its a straightforward enough transformation, its just folding the outer leg panels into the gun handles always gave me pause. But I finally managed to fold them down without it feeling like they were gonna snap.


As I've said before, I know some people hate light up gimmicks, but Shockwave is one of the few Transformers it truly makes sense on.

 

@gaseous clay LOL thats no lie! That 1st transformation of him is very sketchy as hell even while watching reviews of him.

 

This figure is still crispy good.
I own all variations (original, clear, black) in duplicate. As good as FT Quakewave was, I still like this better.

 

I have QB, and one of the first test shots of QW. I’d have gotten rid of the QW otherwise, nothing special about it.

 

Got mine today... No joke those legs felt like they'd snap. Wish I'd have scored that upgrade kit for him... But he's sweet... Now to figure where to put his faction symbols...

 

Hey.
If you pull up on the waist a click you will unlock waist rotation. Plus if you untab the feet you will get an ankle rocker.

Finally tracked down another Quakeblast! Had him and sold him years ago when money was tight, and totally missed having this toy in my collection. Didn't realize the original version became so hard to find! Decided to address my only personal nitpicks on him, gave him a thicker eye lens and made a thicker slip on hand cannon barrel, as the stock one always looked too skinny to me for this brute. I have MP29 in my toon MP display still, but QB fits right into my "High Detail" MP display perfectly.

 

One of my first third party figures, and still one of my favourites. What ever happened to Cloud 9, anyway?

 

What feet are you using on apollyon? (i see prime has something too but not interested in those). side question, are you the same guy that made some missile /smoke effects parts for valkyries years ago (using hot glue if i remember correctly)?

 

QB is one of my favorites.

 

The Apollyon feet covers are from a designer named Reza Aulia, he sent me the file years ago for them.
And yup, that was me with the valkyrie effects! I don't get on Macross World any more because I stopped collecting Macross stuff, it just got way out of hand money wise keeping up with those toys.

 

Rumor has it they became Gigapower.

Now, what ever happened to Gigapower? Excellent question.

 

Where'd you get those parts... Like the feet on prime and apollyon?

 

You don't have it quite right, LOL. The rumor was that gigapower actually created Cloud 9 to do quakeblast because they were getting back at fanstoys in some way (given that quakeblast is a re-shell / slight re-engineering of Quakewave). Gigapower is still doing Dinobots as far as I know.

 

I print them in my studio. The Prime feet are my design, but the Apollyon feet are from a different designer. The Prime feet are from a clip on G1 leg panel set I designed a long time ago. I got ridiculed for it here on TFW though at the time, but whatever.

 

I like them, might be a tad big, but it's got a good look. They'd pop better with a little dab of paint

 

They are. They just released a weathered version of their Slag that looks really good. Has a new head sculpt too.

 

Okay... I'm putting decepticon symbols on mine... Can i see where everyone put theirs as I'm really torn on where and how many to apply...

 

Right above the chest panel thingy is the best spot. Well, in my opinion anyway. I tried some smaller logos on the forearms once, but it really didn't work. Apologies for crap picture, by the way.
