I think that Cliffjumper would have been a good replacement for Jolt and Dino/Mirage...think about it, in ROTF you see him with the Autobots in their highway driving scenes and Optimus, him, and Bumblebee rescue Sam, however there would be an extended fight and during that fight, Bee is knocked out cold. After that Cliffjumper saves Lio and Mikayla (however you spell it). Then the forest scene cuts in as usual but once Starscream and Grindor attack, the scene cuts to Bee waking up and rushing to Prime. The forest scene continues and Bee arrives just in time to see Prime die. Bee is distraught at this and the scene plays the same but Cliff comes with Bee and the twins and acts as a sort of counselor to Bee and the film carries on as usual just with Cliff in the scenes then, when Bee and the twins are attacked by Starscream, Cliff stays behind and fights him off, then the film continues on as usual until Rampage dies, Cliff then finds his way back, helps Bee kick Rampages butt and drives Sam's parents to safety. So the scene plays differently as Bee is protecting Sam the whole way to Prime until the scene where Megatron shoots Sam, Megatron attacks but Bee tries to protect Sam, however, Megatron quickly disposes of Bee, throwing him to a nearby pillar the scene then plays out as usual but Bee is now distraught and blames himself for two friends deaths. Cliff then appears and comforts Bee then the scene plays as normal. Now DOTM, he does everything Dino / Mirage does and instead of Sam killing Starscream he does attracting the attention of some Decepticons and triggering the prison scene. However he dies in the prisoner scene fueling Bumblebee to kill Soundwave and the other Decepticons hostage takers. Then we cut to the end of the film where we see Ratchet comforting Bumblebee over Cliffjumpers death as Optimus Prime begins his final speech that ends the film. So, what do you guys think???
NO KILL CLIFFJUMPER!!!!!! It sounds like a good idea though, in DOTM I thought of dino being cliffjumper.
I could see Cliffjumper working for the live action films. Transformers Prime did a really good job of making Cliffjumper something other than a Bumblebee repaint so I'm guessing that the live action films would also make Cliffjumper his own bot. It's possible to even give a stronger Transformers Prime nod to the character if Micheal Bay could talk the Rock into the doing the character voice again.
Once again, this is non-movie and is merely fan talk however if Cliffjumper was included i would like to see him as a replacement for Bumblebee trying to prove himself in the Autobot team while also distance himself so they dont think he is just another Bumblebee.
Dwayne Johnson-voiced, Dodge Challenger-esque Cliffjumper or GTFO. (Please, Michael, if you're reading this, get Dwayne Johnson in TF4 as Cliffjumper.) As for having Cliffjumper replace Jolt, I vote no. Why not get rid of the randomly appearing and disappearing Jolt character entirely and a.) have one less random Autobot character to barely be seen and b.) let Ratchet do something useful and combine Jetfire's parts onto Optimus? As for Cliffjumper replacing Dino...again, no. I'm still a firm proponent that Dino could've been entirely removed from DotM and everything he said/did given to Sideswipe with virtually no affect on the movie as a whole. With the slight alteration of a single line by Sideswipe ("Dino, I got 'em!"), you could honestly replace every. single. line of dialogue, action piece or overall contribution to the movie that involved Dino and give it to Sideswipe. And it wouldn't really even affect the movie much*. Especially considering that when one character is present, the other isn't really (save for the highway chase). Dino is basically there in the first act and then barely in the second and third act, while Sideswipe is virtually non-existant in the first act and then shines for the second and third act. Threatening the Iraqi terrorists? Could’ve easily been Sideswipe. Standing around in NEST ("He's in a bad mood. He's not talkin' to anybody today.")? Again, that line could’ve easily been Sideswipe. Chasing after Hatchet/killing him on the highway? Give Sideswipe some sweet grappling hooks and there's no need for Dino. You give Sideswipe a more constant (relatively speaking) presence in the movie, remove one of the minor, inconsequential Autobots thus making the ranks smaller, increase Sideswipe's lines. Win, win, win. In my opinion. *Barring the various filmmaking decisions that go into making a movie such as this. My first choice is always going to be "instead of adding more robot characters, why not see what we can do with the ones we do have?"
This is the mistake that I think was made when after the first movie people asked for 'more robots' and got hordes of nameless and faceless (Optimus probably got to them) robots instead. What they really should've said was they wanted 'more developed robots'. Of course then the moviemakers would've still purposely misunderstood and given us really muscular new robots instead. Not counting Optimus' new abs for DotM of course.
I really want to see Cliff. I like to see him as someone who is a friend of Bee. TFP Cliff was cool, but it was unfornate that he is forever gone from that explosion........
