Been done before, most recently by Spoonman (of whom I owe the inspiration to do this myself. After seeing his, I just had to man) but here's my take on a Classics PM Prime. Using the KO DIA commander set, KO classics prime, 2 classics Treadbolt guns, a random Prime blaster from Shapeways, Zildjian custom cast Prime hands, 2 of process' insignia plates, a Rotf voyager prime (the one that came w/comettor in a 2-pack)for the top chest piece and smoke stacks, bottom of chestpiece is from a Optimash kit, and finished off with a special head from TFW member and creator of the new PM Prime kit coming out next month- TGping (a big thank you sir!). I've modified the head slightly by trimming up the back of it and adding the Treadbolt side antennaes, but this is pretty much what your head can look like when painted from this kit! This guy's done for now, but in the near future I'd like to find a way to make his thighs a bit bigger/longer to just give him some extra height to level out the bulkiness a bit. Should note that everything is removable still, including the stacks, chestpiece, head and guns so alt mode is possible, but this is how I'm choosing to display him and he was done as a "just for fun" project. C&C are always welcome and Enjoy folks!

Nice work. The head's not really my thing but it makes the figure stand out. I would have tried one of the heads that come with Igear's Faith Leader.

But I like your choice of accesories. I'll be using some with my commander figures.

Looks great, but I'd lower the neck or make the head sit lower on the neck then it would be perfect ;)
    Awesome work either way.

Thanks bro', yeah, I knew the head would be a mixed bag as far as who would like it and who wouldn't (just judging from the comments on the TFW forum post of the official release of his kit coming out), but I genuinely like it and feel it's very unique. I also got an alternate display head coming made by Brian (hxcpunk23) that will have more of a classic anime cartoon look to it. Will post pics of that on him when it arrives.
Thanks guys! Hi-q is also en-route to me, but I'm thinking of using him as more of a backpack rather than the g1 grill that he made up.
Thanks man, y'know it's funny, I drilled out the head alot and can get it to sit really low, but this kills the up/down mobility of the head (because the post then sits too high up in the noggin), so I compromised here.
No problem Spoon! Thanks for the kudos! Your ideas and craftsmanship inspires so many Transfans out there that you may never know. What we do here is like dropping a pebble into the ocean, the ripples are felt so far out and so deep. Just look at the Ptitvite Devy...........and the thousands that have been made since!
    Thanks!

Once that head comes down on the neck that is a very inventive mash of figures there. I like it.

There's gotta be a better way to compromise neck movement and head placement. I love the head you have, but it's too thick to stay so high. To clarify, the head as it has been created is awesome IMO. you did a fantastic job of it. it just sits too high. Is it on a balljoint? Take a look at an Exgraver if you have one - the head sits lower, and he can look straight up in the air.

Just a couple thoughts. Great job all around though!!

Very creative. I also agree that the head sits too high. Overall, very cool custom.

The head looks a little funky but I guess it's still a unique look. I wish you got rid of those blocky hands though.

very nice man. and as a "just for fun" project, this kicks ass. I love the chest and head. If you transform him in the future, post some alt mode pics!

Thank you. I may do something about the head in the future, but for now I'm good with it.
There is a certain way figures like Exgraver can pull this off. The ball of the joint is placed as far towards the back of the figure as possible, then the hole made in the back of the head instead of the bottom of the head, which would've been a great option for me had it not been for the size and placement of the neck/balljoint on this original mold. Had I done that, it would've made him look like he had a "duck" head and it would've sat way to anterior instead of in the center base of the figure. I could still do this in the future, but I will have to totally remove the old balljoint and replace with another that sits farther back, then mod the head so the hole is on the back for the balljoint.
Thanks Z, I was aiming for that with the mods I did to it, so very appreciative of that!
    Thanks!
Well, the original hands for this mold were much more "blockier" then these '07 movie leader Prime hands. And for the scale and articulation, you can't beat the look.
Thanks Dan! Yeah I may do that, I got some reprolabels coming in the mail for the side of his legs (side of the trailer) and I got his other trailer/BFG parts all painted up as well in the same silver also awaiting decal application. If you look closely (and are familiar with his transformation), you can see where I've taken care to seperate the silver from the red and blue where the trailer bits will be.

It seems to me like you could just take that neck joint, cut it down quite a bit, and reattach it.

Aside from the height on the head, this is excellent. I'd love to see more photos of the other modes. :thumb

Agh,yeah could do that. I'd have to throw some putty up in the head where I've drilled out for the longer post, but doable. Personally, I don't really have a problem with it, so I'll prolly leave it alone for now.

This custom suffers from Pat Lee Neckitis. A mild case, stage 1 or 2, but it will eventually grow to nearly the size of his upper torso, at which point his cosmotron will fail and those don't exactly grow on trees, y'know.

Not cool. Next time try to post constructively on the things you actually like or dislike about a custom. Also, providing some ideas on how one might fix something could also help. Not sure if you meant this in a joking manner, but it's just common courtesy to post the good and bad, without joking digs or whatever. I get the Pat Lee reference and joke, but think about how it comes off to someone who busted ass to put something cool out. Just trying to point out there are nicer ways to go about mentioning an issue you may have with a custom.

Now Jason, I haven't forgotten you, bud! I've been busy, sick, and feeling down and out, bro. I'll shoot you a PM soon with a pic of the WIP head. BUT, after seeing this head, I honestly believe this one is the one you should go with! I think the Prime head we talked about might just be too small for this mold. This head you're using now is a perfect fit. I'll agree that it does sit a bit high, but I think instead of doing anything to the balljoint or any major work, you can simply add some parts or even styrene to the neck to bulk it up a bit to match more with the width of the head. It looks great, but just offering a tip on what might help it look that much better, my friend!

I say stick with the head you've got now and I can just do a kick ass Classics Prime custom head cast for you instead--that way you have the Powermaster Prime and you can do a cool custom Prime or even an "unarmored" version of PM Prime with this head. I'll show you soon, man.
