Just messing around, but thought I would put this out there to get opinions on a future hybrid style that may bring Movie style lovers and Classics aesthetics lovers together. Pulled out some of my very few movie figures from the parts bin (I don't usually collect movie stuff) to mess with them and looked at my GDO Wheelie and WHAM!, 10 minutes later I had this lil fella. Swapped Mudflaps arms out with movie Sideswipe? and head swapped with GDO Wheelie. Don't think it will transform without a buncha mods but I kinda dig it. Hows about you?

Probably won't see this any further, but as an experiment I thought it was kinda neat.

I like this project... since the first 2007 movie, I've been gradually accumulating little mod projects towards a similar aim... a fusion of the industrial "movie aesthetics" with a more friendly, G1-informed styling and attention to character. I even refer to it as "hybrid style" so we're in synch! :)

I have one of these Mudflaps too, but halfway to a Bumblebee (the native colours obviously work much better for Wheelie of course). It's a shame this mold has those wildly asymmetrical arms... but I'm thinking that this mod would work with only a bit of cutting. Snip off the wheels on the new forearms and they should fit in the alt-mode transformation , no? From there, shaving off some obstructing plastic could make room for the new head. I think you're on to something.

In mine, I also flipped the waist around so the feet are formed by solid chunks of the alt mode, rather than those big skeletal toes. It works alright.

Good to know I'm not the only one that sees a lot of potential for a hybrid style to work down the line. Yeah, the huge and tiny arms for the Twins characters had to go,( I also have a movie Skids with brand new arms from a classics Bluestreak...no head on him yet...) and the feet will get a toe trimming, as in cut those weird toe nails off to give him blockier shaped feet. I think the arms with the wheels still attached might still fit just because the transformation had to fit that giant fist in it already. We'll see. Thanks for checkin it out.

Thanks y'all. Might just have to finish this off if I can find another GOD Wheelie head (this one got moved back to his original body). Glad there is interest in the overall concept.
