Those look awesome! Though I hope if the line continues we get updated G1 Dinobots too I'll definitely be getting these, I loves me some Minicons.
Wow, that makes it seem even sillier for someone not to buy them simply because the TF logo is in a different font, and doesn't have "Cybertron" written beneath it. Oh well- to each his own.
Oh HECK yes. Those Dinobots look especially awesome, a few of the vehicle Minicons' robot modes look a tad iffy, but it's hard to tell until I see larger pictures of them. And I guess that Minicon in the latest TF Club comic WASN'T Terrorsaur... huh....
This looks like a very long thread and I'm getting hungry. Has anyone else considered that these might just be more store exclusives in Classics packaging? I don't actually see the word "Classic" anywhere on the box. I sure hope that is all they are.
I for one fervently hope that they are NOT store exclusive. That should be reserved for redecos and reissues.
These are so cool. And they really almost fit in the Classic line if you just think of Minicons and MicroMasters as the same thing. I love the tiny E. Demolisher too:
Wow! Totally cool! I'm getting them all! I gotta agree though, that the names are kinda weird, but who cares? -airfox
Closer analogy would be Micromasters, just packs of mini Transformers used to suppliment the dexlue/Voyager focused mainline.
While these are a nice breath of fresh air for minicon molds, I'm wondering if I want these... I never was really into minicons but I REALLY liked the Giant Planet Minicons and the set with Hop, Blit, and Bumper for GF/CYB...
The difference between Minicons and G1 minibots or Micromasters is: 1) Minicons have more complex transformations and are often more articulated. They are also more likely to have unorthodox robot modes. 2) Besides being cool TransFormers on their own, Minicons can also act as accessories to certain larger TransFormers. All of the normal bots in Armada can use them, most having a special gimmick that can only be activated with a Minicon. Robots prior to Armada have been found that will accomodate them, and several post-Armada TransFormers are designed for them as well. How cool or useful a Minicon looks as an accessory varies vastly from Minicon to Minicon.
You should not wonder, you should get them. I didn't get Minicons for the first few years they were out, then I picked up one set and suddenly I was buying them all over the place. They're just awesomely addictive little things.
