The next pretender monster is ready to roll. As many of you may know, this is a derivative (and actually a refinement) of the Goryu kit. I went with a inverse-modern-Hasbro take for Icepick (as I will do w/ his brothers), with his robot mode being toy-inspired, and his beast-mode being pretender-shell inspired. Of course the parts are all mix-and-match, so you can cobble together a unique bot all your own if you like. Currently the figures are in raw right-off-the-printer deco, I'm going to be partnering with a talented board member to do the finish and paint work for the monsters, so it may be a bit before we see him in full color for real, which is why I did up the digibashes, as they make it easier to see how the parts come together. Sales information is not up anywhere, but these kits are pretty much ready to go. PM me for early-bird details if you don't want to wait for the official info.
I like goryu's chest better because it tapers in. Ice pick looks a lil' pudgy to me. I do really like how you incorporated the pretender shell though.
Even though I'll oly be getting the Dinoforce version, it's still really cool to see this and how you're handling the pretender aspect.
Good catch! I re-engineered the chest to get cleaner prints, but somehow I forgot to give him the needed taper. And thanks, I was hoping folks would like the concept Thanks, personally I really only CARE about Dinoforce myself as well, but designing the US counterparts is sort of fun
Updated my sales page with purchasing info for Icepick. Goryu should be up soon. Click the image in my sig for details
I was very proud of these at the time (and still think I made some good choices), but the pictures are a little horrifying to look at now I keep thinking about revisiting this with my current tech and skills (It's been a VERY fruitful 5 years of learning and hardware upgrading). It's for the Fall of Cybertron Deluxe Prime figure. A figure seemingly designed for custom modding. The 3rd Party offerings for Dinoking (are they getting a Monstructor repaint?) are pretty nice, but I DO like the "Hasbro Classics Pretender" schtick I started with Icepick of having their Shell details in the alt mode. I think that's still unique.
