After all these years, I finally painted one. A classics Bumblebee. Ever since I got the Henkei Bumblebee, I had no desire to paint one but now that I have extra Bumblebees, I thought I'd give it a go. The only parts that I did not paint were the legs. I wanted that solid black plastic. The rest was given the usual flat black base coat with silver, white, and yellow dry brushing and then a gloss clear coat for the car mode.
This is very slick. Among the "ultimate" this and the "action master" that, things like this really stand out to me. It's executed very nicely, and it looks great.
Thanks. This is something I was about to paint YEARS ago to make my classics look more G1y. I practiced on movie figures and crappy figures so that I wouldn't mess these up. But then I started getting the Henkei figures and now I want my figures to look like toys instead of customs. So my classics and henkeis are left alone with minor touch ups and parts swapping, and everything else gets customized. Still glad I did this guy.
